Dead Rock Stars
http://thedeadrockstarsclub.com/deadrock.html Your up to the minute source of practically any musician who has died, past or present. I was shocked to find out that some of my favorite musicians were dead as there was virtually no news about their deaths in the newspapers.

First off I’m not talking about the guy who does the Perverted Justice Stories- that’s Chris Hansen but Keith Morrison of Dateline. I can’t get enough of this guy. To me he’s the Howard Cosell of Crime Reporting. I’m surprised they’ve never done a sketch on him on Saturday Night Live as far as I know.
To give Keith Morrison his props I’ve never seen someone report on so many bizarre, sleazy, idiotic almost pop culture murders as this guy and I don’t know how he sleeps at night getting into the world of these murderers and victims. But what I love, however sick this sounds is he totally gets into his story when reporting it and he makes each crime sound like the greatest tragedy since Adam and Eve!

To all you sci-fi fans of Time Travel and/or the Stargate SG-1 TV series, I think you’ll be very happy with the latest Stargate direct to DVD movie, Stargate: Continuum.
Continuum deals with a whole bunch of time travel concepts including “the grandfather paradox” - if you kill your grandfather, would you cease to exist, and the plot is basically Ba’al, Stargate’s arch enemy, travels back in time and prevents the Stargate program from ever being started causing the time line to change leaving the SG-1 team, the ones who haven’t vanished, left to try to restore it. This is where things get really interesting

One thing I’ve always regretted not doing in life is going for a job interview for a position that I either had no interest in or knew I had no chance getting and just messing with the interviewer’s head as long as it didn’t bite me back. To people who are saying, why would I want to waste all this negative energy doing something so immature, my answer is because it would be a fun way to release stress after being messed with during job interviews. The interview that specifically comes to mind is, for a lousy $3,000 more, I was interviewed by 9 people at the same time around a large table and one of these people had a speech impediment and I couldn’t understand a word she was saying. For her initial question, I asked politely if she could please repeat it,as I didn’t quite understand what she was asking and the other 8 people looked at me like I was the village idiot. This went on for several more questions and after the second time, I basically just tried to guess what she asked and give the answers to what I thought she may have asked.

HBO would rather give you “John from Cincinnati” instead of “Deadwood”. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame would rather have such noted rockers as Leonard Cohen and Miles Davis instead of Bobby Fuller. That says it all about the state of the Entertainment Industry. Here’s a surefire idea for an HBO series that would [...]

For all you Beatles fans out there, between their Strawberry Fields and Sergeant Pepper period, I just discovered a group that I think you’ll love called Timebox who hit their prime in the late 1960’s in England. Their master recordings sound like “missing Beatles demos” circa the Strawberry Fields - Sergeant Pepper period.

As this is a presidential voting year, here are some great trivia questions and answers that I found online.
1. Who was the Last Foreign Born US President?
If you’re saying this is a trick question because a President can not be foreign born, you are WRONG!

I grew up in New York City in the 1960/70’s and as a kid and later a teen, the New York Yankees and New York Mets were my life before I discovered girls. Baseball was my favorite sport and I’d go to endless baseball games a year as well as watch most of the games on WPIX and WOR, the local New York Stations. Today, I hate Major League Baseball and simply don’t follow it. Basketball and football are my sports now. I don’t think I’m alone.

One thing I don’t understand about pro and college football is why teams don’t seem to try the following plays listed below. If some teams have, please let me know and I’ll revise this Post as applicable.
Punting - The Punter lines up 20 -25 yards or more behind the line of scrimmage rather than 15 yards

Out of boredom and fearing the worst, I just rented “Superhero Movie Extended Edition”. I may be wrong but I assumed “Superhero Movie” was made by the people who did “Date Movie”, one of the worst movies I’ve ever rented and after reading the bad reviews on “Superhero Movie” I almost didn’t rent it. To my surprise, this was actually a pretty good movie, not great but not terrible either, a solid “B”. It was like a “Poor Man’s Scary Movie 1″. In all fairness I should mention that if you don’t have a minimum knowledge in comic book lore you might not find this movie funny. Likewise, if you are a total Fanboy, you might find Superhero Movie’s humor too subtle and lame for you. It walks a fine line.

I am totally convinced that the laws of probability can be individually changed to a degree and knowing so, a person can positively manipulate their future using good luck as a force! I’m not a
scientist or a mathematician and as far as I know my theories on Probability are unique as probably no one in their right mind would have them! If what I’m about to reveal has ever been put forth by a Mathematician or a Scientist, please let me know, and I’ll revise or delete this article.
To give you a better example of what I’m trying to set the foundation for, take the “Single Bullet Theory” of the JFK Assassination.

I’m very new to the world of Blogging but in the past week since I’ve set up this Blog, I have had several people pick up original Blog Posts I have written in their blogs, which is fine and I appreciate it, but crediting themselves as the writer of the Post, which is just unbelievable too me. Even killers and drugs dealers have higher ethical standards and morality.

There’s a very destructive force in our society that for some reason goes unrecognized or unsaid because people are afraid to acknowledge it. I’m talking about “Victims” who instead of trying to get their revenge and hurt the people directly responsible for making them “Victims”, more often then not hurt people who did nothing to them in the first place and don’t do anything to the actual “Victimizer”. I’m not trying to make fun of victims or advocating hurting people who victimize you but I just don’t understand what the victims are actually accomplishing by lashing out at the innocent instead of the guilty.

I just watched on the Sci-Fi Channel,”The Insatiable” figuring to kill a few hours. I was shocked as this is one of the most underrated movies I’ve ever seen and definitely the best talking Vampire Movie (”Nosferatu” was silent) I’ve seen. Additionally, the acting and writing were great. The actress who played the Vampire, Charlotte Ayanna, was incredible and deserved to be nominated for an Oscar but I guess the The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences doesn’t want anything to do with “B” movies no matter how great they are.

I am amazed at how easy it would be to get rid of Pro Sports Problems like Bret Favre’s retirement non-retirement in the NFL and problems caused by the NBA’s moronic “one and done” rules as exemplified by OJ Mayo’s current off the court accusations. In fairness to the NFL and NBA as well as Major League Hockey and Major League Baseball, any changes in rules need to be negotiated with Player’s Unions and that isn’t such a quick and easy process, even if it results in a win-win for both sides.

I just saw via import DVD, Season 1 of “Primeval” which is about to debut soon on BBC America. The basic premise is that somehow a rift in the space time vortex- an Anomaly, has opened up in parts of England, leading prehistoric creatures including dinosaurs to go through time to present day England and cause havoc and destruction. The English government despite some of the gory deaths these “lovable creatures” cause by “chop chop” somehow try and manage to cover things up.

The best thing about DVDs is they’re a great way to kill a couple of hours with if you’ve got nothing else to do, provided their entertaining! Entertaining does not always mean good though sometimes a film is both entertaining and good. A few of the movies I have listed are actually good enough that you probably would have been seeking to rent or buy them on DVD on their own if you knew anything about them. Anyway, here’s my list for you in alphabetical order. The main criteria being that they provide entertainment.

The great thing about being a Baby Boomer is we got to witness the greatness that was Hollywood in the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s when celebrities kept it real and weren’t the contrived untalented bores they are today. My biggest gripe is that today’s has beens make over $200,000 a year with Reality TV Shows and convention appearances which seems like a pretty good living to me while the poor has beens of yesterday were truly down and out and kept it real.

This alphabetical list contains a lot of hard to find phone numbers of Computer and Internet Related companies. Use it as a rough guide which I’ll try to update periodically. It’s not perfect as I’m sure I’ve left companies out and all the phone numbers are US phone numbers with the exception of 2 companies in Canada. You may need to put a “1″ in front of the Toll Free numbers where applicable. I tried to give customer service contact numbers as much as possible and used the latest phone numbers I could find. Let me know if any phone numbers have changed or are out of date. Also let me know of companies you think I should add to this list.

Having lived in an apartment or condominium most of my life, I can say the worst thing is neighbors complaining about the noise coming from your home theater or stereo system. Let’s get something out of the way fast. Unlike what the media wants you to think, beautiful women are not alone sitting in their apartments at night because men are too scared to ask them out. The fact is good looking women are hit on every day. You’re now going, huh, isn’t the title here “It’s Easier to Attract a Good looking Woman Than an Average Looking Woman”? Yeah, it is, I just wanted to start off with some reality. Honestly, though, it is actually easier attracting better looking women then average looking ones.
