ABC Shark Tank Is Part of It Rehearsed I Wonder?

I’ve blogged about Shark Tank on ABC before and I actually like the program and its one of the few reality TV Shows I’ve learned things from because for the most part the “Sharks” offer good reasons why a product or business opportunity is weak. Lately however I’m beginning to wonder if some of the episodes are “Rehearsed”. Note, I can’t prove it and its just my own opinion based on what I’ve seen on TV from a common sense point of view. Take the September 29, 2009 Episode of Shark Tank.

On the September 29, 2009 episode of Shark Tank, the male sharks went Bonkers over a woman who wanted money to put metal (?) markers on food that is being barbecued so that one would know if the meat was supposed to be barbecued rare, medium, well, etc. I don’t get it. This product did not seem unique at all and none of the Sharks asked the woman if she had a patent as they usually do of people who come to the show with a product. Without a patent, anyone can just duplicate the product if something similar is not on the market already and just sell their product cheaper. The woman professed a deep desire to do business with Kevin Harrington an Infomercial TV genius but decided she did not want to give Kevin Harrington 50% of her company, only 49%, so she decided to go into business with Robert Herjavec who only wanted 40% but has no apparent experience selling her type of product which made no sense at all. 50% of millions is worth a lot more than 60% of thousands but this woman apparently could not grasp that from what I can tell. Here is this portion of the episode of Shark Tank, courtesy of You Tube (It comes on around 1:50):

To add insult to injury, one of the Sharks, Fubu Founder Daymond John, later on in this episode, apparently decided to let a professional knife thrower throw knives at him without any kind of preparation or practice. Call me skeptical.

I do enjoy Shark Tank and recommend watching it but right now I am not convinced that some of Shark Tank isn’t rehearsed like other Reality TV Shows though I can’t offer any concrete proof other than Common Sense.
