Amanda Knox Ruined Google Adsense for Me!

Well known Beatles Singing American Murderess in Italy Amanda Knox besides being involved in the Murder of Meredith Kercher also wound up ruining the Gift and Free Advice Blog Google Adsense earnings. Note this article is not meant to trivialize Meredith Kercher’s murder but to serve as a warning to people whose Blogs and Websites use Google’s Adsense Program to help make spare income to offset their Website Expenses.
What happened to me with Google Adsense was partially my fault and I am writing this Blog so other Google Adsense Program users can learn from what happened:
On July 1, 2009, I wrote and published a Blog Post titled, “Murder Suspect Amanda Knox Parents How to Waste Money- My Personal Opinion” which received a few hundred readers at the time, no big deal one way or the other and I didn’t think anything more of the post. On December 4, 2009, Amanda Knox was found guilty of murder, sexual violence and other charges and sentenced to 26 years in prison. The next thing I know, The Gifts and Free Advice Blog which was averaging 150,000 unique readers a month, suddenly within 4 days had 70,000 people reading my July 2009 Amanda Knox Parents Blog. Sounds great right? A fortune in Adsense Money would be coming in, right? Er, NO!
What I screwed up and didn’t discover till it was too late was that Adsense because of the Huge Increase in Reader Traffic to this Blog thought that I was apparently doing some kind of Fraud Scheme and converted most if not all of my Adsense Ads to Public Service Announcements which pay nothing, Nada! Apparently I was suppose to, and this is my fault, notify Adsense whenever I’m expecting a sudden significant increase in traffic to my site which I simply did not know out of my stupidity all of which resulted in Google putting up the Public Service Announcements. Eventually, I managed to contact Adsense to tell them that the increase was legit and they dropped the Public Service Announcements and put back the Adsense Google Ads. Good, right? Er, No!
It seems ever since then the ads have been almost always ads not related to the Subject of my Blog Post which has resulted in a considerable drop in my Adsense Earnings. I’m sure that’s sending a smile to the Amanda Knox supporters but dudes, honestly, the amount of money I was earning monthly on Adsense before the drop in earnings would be good for one nice dinner out for me and a date and now it’s good for a few pizza delivery orders! When I try to contact Adsense about the non-relevant ads I don’t get any response at all which is one of the problems with Google Adsense, their live personal customer service help is virtually non-existent and trying to contact Google using their own Contact Google (Adsense) links is an exercise in Kafka Madness leading to dead ends. You would think that a billion dollar company like Google could afford to hire live human beings for one to one customer service but Noooooooooooooo!
Unfortunately for all I complain, Adsense for me is the only game in town and I’m just happy for any morsels I can get! In December 2009, the Gifts and Free Advice Blog had 240,000 Unique Monthly readers, an increase of nearly 90,000 readers from the previous month, yet suffered a large drop in our Adsense Earnings, so let this tale be a caution to potential and actual Adsense users! This Blog still makes a little bit of money from our E-Commerce Stores listed below like Our Online Discount Gift Shop but its just enough to support my time and expenses doing this Blog.
