Artie Lange Should Headline Joe Buck Live Second Show or HBO is crazy. Actually HBO is crazy. They announced that “Deadwood” was canceled just as Deadwood’s third season began and essentially replaced it with “John From Cincinnati” a total loser show that anyone would half a brain would know sucked right away. Anyway, HBO couldn’t pay or dream to get the kind of buzz and publicity that Artie Lange has given “Joe Buck Live”. Artie Lange’s appearance will go down in the annals of TV history. It was kind of like the David Lynch movie “Blue Velvet” with Joe Buck being Kyle MacLachlan in the part of Jeffrey Beaumont and Artie Lange being Dennis Hopper in the part of Frank Booth but real, live and unscripted.
I don’t know that much about Joe Buck but he clearly doesn’t know how to be a talk show host as the parts where he talked with Paul Rudd and Jason Sudeikis were a lifeless snoozefest and Artie Lange saved the show. In fact, if HBO had any balls, they’d make Artie Lange a co-host of Joe Buck Live as the insane non-chemistry between Joe Buck and Artie Lange was awesome.
So HBO if you want to get the biggest ratings in HBO History, you’ll book and heavily promote Artie Lange for the second episode of Joe Buck Live. Use it or Lose it! And bring back Deadwood!
