Beatles Remasters Compared to original CDs Nuke to Peashooter Difference

If you have a few hundred dollars aside, the Beatles Stereo Remasters Box Set is the best gift in the world you can give yourself, a loved one or a friend. I can’t comment on the Mono Set which I haven’t heard but the Stereo Remasters Set is incredible. The difference between the original Beatles CDs and the Stereo Remaster Beatles CDs is beyond a Night and Day Difference, like comparing a Nuke to a peashooter! The engineers at Abbey Road are to be congratulated a million times over for producing such incredible sound. Playing the Beatles Remaster CDs is like hearing the Beatles perform in your own living room with incredible separation of instruments and voices and an incredibly warm, vibrant and live sound with balls. I never realized Ringo was so good!

I’m going to say something that may make me in the minority but George Martin who is one of the greatest record producers of all time and no doubt contributed equally to the John, Paul,George and Ringo being the Beatles, totally blew the original Beatles CDs in the late 1980′s. Quite frankly the sound sucked: It was totally flat and made the Beatles sound like a band playing the Bar Mitzvah circuit which is not meant as an anti-semitic statement to anyone Politically Correct. I’m sure there are millions of people who just say as an excuse well it was the technology then- sorry there were plenty of good sounding CDs during that period. That they waited over 20 years to remaster the Beatles to CD is inexcusable but the bottom line is the Beatles Stereo Remasters sound absolutely fantastic and the packaging is terrific. My only misgiving is I wish they listed who played what instrument and who sang what on each track but that information is available in books and probably online and I’m more than grateful for this incredible Box Set. I’ve only listened to the first 8 albums so far and its like hearing the Beatles for the first time, again! Each track is incredible. The only track that didn’t sound so good, maybe it was my imagination was “Love Me Do” whose drums sounded totally grungy like they were recorded in a $10 an hour studio.

If you love music and love the Beatles you should get the Beatles Stereo Remasters Box Set right now, do not pass go!
