Update: I guess there is some justice and order in the World. After I wrote this, all the Polls had Boise State aghad of Oregon except for the knuckleheads and hypocrites at Sports Illustrated- the same people who condemn Steroids and artificial enhancements in sports but hire women with breast implants for their Swimsuit Issue. Here’s the original article I wrote:

I’m praying that my above title of this Blog does not come true. It is Saturday night, October 31, and Oregon University has just demolished # 4 Ranked USC, 47-20, giving Oregon a record of 7-1, with their only loss coming to undefeated Boise State, 19-8, on their first game of the Football Season. Since then, all Boise State has done is win, win, win, yet they seem to drop lower in the College Football Polls each week while teams with a loss as opposed to Boise State’s non losses, are ranked higher or rising in the polls.

To me, this is why the College Football Rankings are a total sham. If a team is great but not in a highly rated division and can’t play that many non-conference games against ranked teams because the ranked teams are afraid of them, they get screwed like Boise State in the Football Polls because Boise State’s “Father” doesn’t own the ball. Or to put it more succinctly, it is the equivalent of the Pittsburgh Steelers Ben Roethlisberger not being the starting Quarterback one year in High School because the Coach’s son started at Quarterback ahead of him. The rankings are basically a fixed contest with teams from the so called better divisions being given up to 2 game losses that don’t count and teams from the weaker divisions penalized for up to 2 wins that don’t count.

I really hope that Boise State is ranked higher than Oregon when the College Football Rankings come out this week. If not, I’m basically through with College Football as its Ranking System is a Total Sham.
