Bristol Palin:Why Get Married After Child is Born out of Wedlock
While I personally doubt that Bristol Palin will marry Levi Johnston and really don’t care as its none of my business, what I don’t get and maybe someone can explain this to me is why if you’re knocked up get married after your child is born out of wedlock instead of before? Isn’t that like saving a village in Viet Nam by destroying it? Sorry, it’s a 60′s thing.
I admit to being totally narrow minded when it comes to having children out of wedlock. I love sex but I also believe in using contraception and being responsible enough not to knock someone up. It also is a two person responsibility. If you don’t want to have your child born out of wedlock then what exactly is the point in getting married after the child is born? Unless you change the birth certificate which as far as I know is illegal and I’m assuming a criminal offense, then getting married after your kid is born is not going to change the fact that your child was born out of wedlock and is technically an illegitimate child. None of your love is going to change that fact. So what’s the point of getting married after your child is born and not before? The only reason I think people are doing this is because so called Movie and Television stars do this and I wouldn’t call most of them rocket scientists albeit they have more money then I’ll ever have. Put it this way, I’d rather be middle class and born in wedlock (even if my mother was 7 months pregnant) than be born out of wedlock to rich parents. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure children can be brought up happily by unmarried parents who love their children and their kids are wonderful human beinsg. This blog isn’t directed against them but the parents who have children and then get married afterwards. Maybe people should follow the lead of Homer and Marge Simpson who was knocked up with Bart but got married before Bart was born instead of some Nouveau Hip Movie and TV Star(s).
