One of the injustices of life is that many of the films of Peter Lorre are not available commercially on TV, depriving a following of Peter Lorre’s fans the pleasure of seeing the master at work as well as depriving people who weren’t aware of Peter Lorre, the pleasure of discovering him.

I just saw Cadillac Records and consider it a good solid movie that captures the Vibe of Chess Records and their music but if you’re expecting an accurate musical history of Chess Records you’ll be extremely disappointed.

I just watched “The Insatiable” figuring to kill a few hours. I was shocked as this was one of the most underrated movies I’ve ever seen and definitely the best talking Vampire Movie (”Nosferatu” was silent) I’ve seen. In addition, the acting and writing were great. The actress who played the Vampire, Charlotte Ayanna, was [...]

Chess Records of Chicago put out some of the best blues, R&B, and early rock and roll records of the Fifties and Sixties and is now the subject of not one but two different movies coming out: “Cadillac Records” starring Adrien Brody as Leonard Chess, Cedric the Entertainer as Willie Dixon, Mos Def as Chuck Berry, Columbus Short as Little Walter, Jeffrey Wright as Muddy Waters, and BeyoncĂ© Knowles as Etta James and “Who Do You Love” with a lesser known cast (I would have listed the leads but no offense intended I never heard of any of them). I thought before the great music of Chess Records is trivialized and “bastardized” by companies trying to cash in on these movies, that I’d recommend the best “Best Of” original recording collections on CD of some of the great Chess Recording Artists, so anyone interested in hearing more will know where to look.

Everest summiteers, trekkers and cancer survivors, on a once in a lifetime journey to Mt. The thing I hate about renting DVDs is, at least 25% of the time I get a screwed up on that some cretin has messed up and dumped on to the next renter. I’m sure that has happened to most people reading this and here are some tips to help you get it to play correctly.

If you love H.P. Lovecraft or Horror Movies and can rent DVDS by mail, you should definitely rent the Dunwich Horror, a 1970 movie starring Dean Stockwell and Sandra Dee adapted from a short story by the legendary H.P. Lovecraft. I have seen many of H.P. Lovecraft’s works made into movies and TV episodes and this is the best one I’ve seen after the legendary, Re-Animator. The movie was written by Curtis Hanson who directed L.A. Confidential and is one of his earliest works.

I love moron movies. Moron movies are movies with no real point, no social value that totally entertain you and are universally panned by the critics. “Maximum Overdrive” featuring an awesome soundtrack by AC/DC that sets the pace of the movie and written and directed by Stephen King is one of the great Moron Movies Ever which is the highest compliment I can give a movie!

I just read a rumor that the CW which recently remade/recycled Beverly Hills 90210 is thinking of doing the same to one of my favorite shows Melrose Place. This follows a trend of movies being adapted from old TV Shows like Get Smart, Starsky and Hutch, Bewitched, ad nausuem. The question is why considering almost [...]

If any of you are trying to put together a great quality Home Theater System but just can’t afford the cost, well this I put together this one for you which you can obtain from different online sources at your option if you wish. It’s kind of how I put my system together. If this can help you out, great. If not, maybe it will help guide you to what you’re looking for. This system is a combination of New and Used Equipment. I’ve left out used Video equipment such as DVD Recorders and HDTV’s. Used DVD Recorders never last and I’d never chance anything on a used HD TV.

Mike Judge the creator of “Beavis and Butthead”, “King of the Hill” and director of “Office Space” is a genius. His last and most prophetic work “Idiocracy” should have been both a hit movie and a warning to all that unless we shape up, the majority of people in the United States having kids will [...]

I just watched “The Rocker” because of Rainn Wilson of The Office, a movie with such a lame title that I thought it was going to be mediocore and for the most part I was right. However the music was fantastic by the “nonexistent” Heavy Metal group Vesuvius.

Every time I turn on the TV, I see this guy’s face everywhere: commercial, TV shows, movies and I didn’t know his name till I had enough and spent hours on the computer to find out. There’s something about the guy that as soon as he makes an appearance somehow you think you’re in for non-stop laughter and I mean that as a compliment. The only actor I ever felt this way was Buster Keaton who in some bizarre way he reminds me of. Anyway, his name is, surprise Frederick Koehler and I’m sure plenty of people know his name because he apparently was a regular on “Kate and Allie”, a TV Show I never saw.

This is an article which deals with why people no longer go to movies based on my personal experience and my reflections of watching movies at home on DVD versus the movie experience. I use the movies “No Country for Old Men”, “Michael Clayton” and “Re-Animater” to make my points.

After years of trials and tribulations, I’ve finally come up with a system to get my computer running very fast and efficiently. Here’s how I do it, feel free to follow, if you feel your computer and/or laptop (for the purpose of this article the term “Computer” stands for both) doesn’t work as fast as you think its capable of, given your RAM, CPU, Operating System, Hard Drive and Internet Connection.
