Crusade is a superlative album capturing the passion and spirit of the 60’s with a hot combination of originals and covers of Chicago Blues classics. Highlights include “Oh, Pretty Woman”, “Checkin on my Baby”, Mayall’s original “The Death of J.B. Lenoir” and “Driving Sideways”. This is easily the best album Mick Taylor recorded with John Mayall in my opinion. The group consisted of John Mayall, Mick Taylor, John McVie, Keef Hartley on drums, Chris Mercer on Tenor Sax and Rip Kant on Baritone Sax.
