Child Safety GPS Watch For Kids A Missed Business Opportunity

I wrote an earlier Blog months ago wondering why GPS devices aren’t implanted into children. It never occurred to me that GPS Watches are currently available in the United States. Unfortunately it appears that these GPS Watches are not available with GPS enabled tracking devices to locate the wearer of the watch, especially kids. You would think most parents would be interested in having a watch that could locate their children and would be more than willing to pay for such a watch and monthly service. Additionally, I think most adults would want to have one for themselves. I know I do.
While researching GPS watches online, I’ve found that watches advertised as a GPS watch are actually used for sports. You would think that one of these manufacturers of GPS watches would have some GPS watches for tracking kids and adults. But Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I could not find one current GPS Watch online with a tracking device currently sold in the United States. No wonder our economy is such a mess. There is a totally untapped market for GPS Watches that no one has taken advantage of. Note I found a few GPS watches for kids that were supposedly available in the United States but when I went to their respective sites they were either no longer being sold or having advance orders taken with no actual due date.
There apparently is a GPS tracking watch for kids in the United Kingdom that is scheduled to be available July 31, 2009, called the NU.M8 costing approximately the equivalent of $246 as of this writing with monthly service plans ranging from $5 to $33 a month. the Nu.M8 is schedued to be available in the united States in the 4th quarter of 2009.
