Wiseguy The Complete First Season
The First Season of Wiseguy is one of the greatest TV Series ever made featuring as villains Kevin Spacey before he became famous and the late Ray Sharkey. Wiseguy stars Ken Wahl as “Vinnie” Terranova, a cop who is so far undercover, he doesn’t know he’s undercover any more. Wiseguy was written and produced by Stephen J. Cannell.
Official DVD Product Description: “Long before Donnie Brasco brought similar drama to the big screen, Ken Wahl brought charisma, credibility, and chutzpah to his small-screen role as Vincent Terranova, a handsome 30-year-old agent with the FBI s Organized Crime Bureau. As conceived by co-creators Stephen Cannell (of The Rockford Files and The A-Team fame) and Ken Lupo, Wiseguy followed an innovative story-arc structure, allowing Vinnie s deep-cover missions to last only as long as necessary to bring each case to a sensible conclusion. Since copied by countless TV shows, this unique approach to storytelling attracted a devoted following of viewers addicted to the self-contained plots that forced Vinnie, his sourpuss OCB handler Frank McPike (Jonathan Banks), and disabled covert liaison Dan Lifeguard Burroughs (played by double-amputee Jim Byrnes) to achieve their objectives.”
Wonderfalls The Complete Series
Wonderfalls starring the amazing Caroline Dhavernas was incredible TV show and shows why The Fox TV Network sucks. They canceled this wonderful comedy/dramedy just after 4 episodes despite the fact that everyone loved it but they just didn’t want to give it a chance. The DVD features all 13 episodes that were made, 9 of which were never broadcast. Caroline Dhavernas plays Jaye Tyler who hears voices of inanimate objects who instruct her to help people she’s never met.
Official DVD Product Description: “From the producer of Angel and Firefly comes Wonderfalls with 9 never aired episodes. Although a recent graduate of Brown University, Jaye Tyler decides to ignore her degree, live in a trailer and work at a tourist gift shop in Niagara Falls called Wonderfalls—-much to the despair of her well-to-do family. But Jaye’s aimless life takes a startling turn after a lion figurine begins talking to her. Her family calls it an “episode,” but Jaye knows better.
Fearing for her sanity, Jaye nevertheless starts doing exactly what an increasing number of inanimate objects tell her to do and is amazed when her outrageous actions begin changing people’s lives in unexpected ways.”
Get a Life Vol. 1 and Vol. 1
Get a Life was a hilarious TV Series starring the Great Chris Elliot who played a 30-year-old paperboy living at home with his parents (Father Knows Best Elinor Donahue and Chris Elliot’s real father Bob Elliott) putting up with him as he gets into one mess after another. These DVDs unfortunately comprise of 8 total episodes instead of 2 Seasons worth because for some bizarre reason they haven’t released the complete 2 Seasons on DVD. I didn’t find an official product description but this TV series was ahead of its time and a must for all Chris Elliot fans.
Nowhere Man - The Complete Series
Nowhere Man starring Bruce Greenwood was another fantastic TV series, a Mystery Thriller, that deserved a better TV fate but luckily it did have a proper ending so if you watch this great DVD, you will both be totally surprised and satisfied. Bruce Greenwood who owns this part, plays Thomas Veil, a photographer whose identity and life has somehow been completely erased.
Official DVD Product Description: “Unknown forces conspire to erase the identity of photographer Thomas Veil (Bruce Greenwood, I, Robot), and without warning, every aspect of his life is erased during the course of one evening. His wife acts as if he’s a stranger, his credit cards are suddenly invalid, his keys no longer fit the door to his home and in one way or another, his family and friends are silenced. Completely alone, Veil sets out on a desperate cross-country quest for an answer while eluding his powerful and unknown enemy. His only clue to the possible motivation behind the harrowing ordeal is the disappearance of one of his photographs, “Hidden Agenda,” which depicts the execution of natives in a war-torn Third World country.”
Millennium - The Complete First Season or The Complete Second Season
Millennium actually ran a few seasons and was a totally insane, dark, creepy, gory, serial killer TV series starring the dynamic duo of Lance Hendrickson as former FBI agent Frank Black and Pre Lost Terry Quinn as Frank’s “mentor” Peter Watts of the mysterious Millennium group. Season 1 is a bit slow and you might want to watch Season 2 first as its more exciting and you can still follow everything without watching Season 1.
Official DVD Product Description: “Retired serial-profiler Frank Black has moved his family to Seattle to escape the violence and horror he dealt with while working for the FBI in Washington, D.C. Although his uncanny and often unsettling ability to see into the twisted minds of serial killers has caused him much inner torment, Black knows his “gift” can still be used to help protect and save others. For that reason he has joined the mysterious Millennium Group, a team of underground ex-law enforcement experts dedicated to fighting against the ever-growing forces of evil and darkness in the world.”
The Collector
The Collector a Canadian TV Series that ran 3 Seasons and no one knows about it. In the Collector, which currently is available on DVD from Canada only sorry so you’ll have to look for it online, plays the humane Morgan Pym who is actually trying to help the escapees from Hell from going back (long story) with the Devil played by a different actor each episode and the episodes are really interesting and varied. In some episodes Morgan Pym wins and in others the Devil wins! This show had some really great writing and was much different than the short lived US show, Brimstone also about escapees from hell.
Official DVD Product Description: The Collector is a supernatural drama about a soul-collector who gets permission from the Devil to try to save the souls of his Clients during their last 48 hours on earth.
The 4400 - The Complete First Season
Opening Theme
The 4400 ran for several seasons and in my opinion Heroes ripped off the best aspects of this awesome sci-fi show. Each season had an interesting different but related premised and everything about this show was first rate and left you wanting more. The premise was awesome. All of a sudden thousands of people who had disappeared at various times in the 20th century, i.e., 1910, 195o, etc., all suddenly appear as a mass group never having aged from their age of disappearance and all of them are blessed with powers and the FBI is trying to control and oversee everything. Joel Gretsch (the priest on the new V) stars as Agent Tom Baldwin whose son is one of the people who disappeared and Billy Campbell plays a significant role as the 4400 progresses.
Official DVD Product Description: During the past century, thousands of people have gone missing. When 4400 of them return all at once unharmed and looking the same as when they disappeared, the government investigates, unsure of how this can be possible. What the government does not know is that the presence of these 4400 will change the human race in many unexpected ways.
