Customer Help Idiocy Online
I just thought I’d share my latest rant against the idiots who run companies making millions and billions but can’t be bothered to have an actual live human being help you on the phone with any questions or problems you have on their product and instead use their customer service software to give you idiot technical customer service.
Today, I used one of the free Tax E-Filing companies that of course charges you if you wish to file your State Return but doesn’t tell you that ahead of time. My rants not about that believe it or not or the fact that they don’t tell you, you need your last years adjusted gross income to actually file electronically. No my rant is, I needed an answer to a question I had filing out their online tax form and this is what I got as an answer verbatim. A little bit of background, I couldn’t find a column to put Depreciation Expense on their Business Income and the only way to get an answer to any question about their online form is to ask it online, you can’t speak directly to a human being by phone or online.
The subject and question is what I entered online in their form. The answer is what I received from them and bolded.

IncomeQuestion:
Where do I put depreciation I dont see it on here?
Answer:Please read each screen carefully for the area to input this information
That was real helpful as it was missing from their form or at least I couldn’t find it. The reason why we’re in a depression is because most companies are run by idiots who think we’re all chumps.
