Dan Hampton Katrina AOL David Whitley Reamed for Being a PC Bitch

Maybe the world is becoming a better place after all and has developed some common sense. I can’t tell you how good I feel that AOL Columnist David Whitley was reamed by readers for his blog castigating Hall of Fame Chicago Bears Football Player Dan Hampton for saying “The Vikings need to go down there and hit that town like Katrina” on a TV Show. More specifically Dan Hampton made his remarks without malice intended on Pro Football Weekly’s syndicated TV show doing analysis of the New Orleans Saints Minnesota Vikings NFL opener. While I personally wouldn’t use the word Katrina like this, for goodness sake it happened 5 years ago, have we reached the point that we no longer have any freedom of speech and have to call everything “Vowel Word”. A lot of people who read Mr. Whitley’s blog apparently felt the same and were in full support of Dan Hampton and said David Whitley was being too sensitive and what happened to free speech?
Mr. Whitley reminded me of a CNN news broadcast I just saw online where someone tried to commit suicide by jumping 40 stories off a building but somehow survived destroying a car in his path and the newscaster and his talking pundits were smugly putting down the owner of the car who was pissed off and more concerned with her car being destroyed then the guy who survived his suicide jump. Like she’s the one who has problems according to CNN. I discussed this with everyone I knew and we were all in agreement that the woman did nothing wrong- the guy decided to commit suicide and he ruined her car. Why should she be concerned at all about the guy because he decided to commit suicide by his own volition and as a result destroyed her car. It’s pretty bad that people aren’t allowed to be themselves and are judged and put down by the politically correct media who probably would act totally different if this happened to them.
