Supposedly NFL Head Coaches know more in their little finger than NFL fans like ourselves will ever know if you go by the Media and Pro Football Teams. I said what total BS. In the case of John Fox of the Denver Broncos, the fans certainly know more than John Fox and the Denver Broncos would have won more games if the Fans had coached them rather than John Fox! But this blog is not about, John “I Play to Not Lose but I Wind Up Not Winning” Fox, although it partial is, but rather about NFL Football Dumbest Plays that Coaches Enable that Should Be Totally Preventable. These plays cost teams games and seem to happen consistently in the NFL. The Main Point of this Blog is that each of these dumb pro football plays (I’m sure this is just a few of them) should never happen if an NFL Head Coach and his staff is doing his job:

1. The Quarterback Calling Time Out anytime before the last 5 Minutes or So of the Game

Of all the dumb plays (or this case non-play) in the NFL, the quarterback calling a time out anytime other than the last 5 minutes or so of the game (or 2 minutes of the first half) is one of the dumbest wasting a valuable time out when it could be needed best in the last minutes of the first half or at the end of the game. Incredibly it seems that all NFL Quarterbacks do this regularly. Basically what happens is there is a mix-up on the play call, formation, etc., and instead of just taking a delay of game penalty by letting the 30 second time clock run out, the quarterback takes a valuable time out instead of a 5 yard penalty. Unless it was 3rd and inches, I think 100% of NFL Coaches would rather trade 5 yards for a timeout. So why don’t NFL Coaches simply Instruct Their Quarterbacks Never to take Time Out in a Game unless its at the end of the half or the end of the game. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb aqnd Easily Preventible.

2. Hardly any time left in the game clock, your far away from Field Goal or Touch Down Range and the Quarterback throws a short pass.

Again dumb, dumb, dumb. What exactly does a short pass accomplish when you need to be in scoring range with time running down. The QB is better off just throwing the ball out of bounds taking stopping the clock unless its 4th down. Is this so hard for a Coach to tell his Quarterback?

3. Variance on the Scenario Above.

A Receiver catches a short pass with time running down. Unless the ball will be intercepted or its 4th down, the receiver is better off not making the catch as all it does is eat up time on the clock unless he can go out of bounds and stop the clock.

4. Hardly any time left on the Clock and the punt returner instead of just letting the ball roll towards the goal line when he doesn’t have a play, tries to catch the ball but fumbles.

John Fox’s Denver Broncos did this recently. Is it so hard to have a Special Teams Coach tell the Returner, don’t bother catching it and get out of the way unless you have a sure 20 yard return?

5. If the Punt Returner can’t catch the punt, then get the hell away from the ball!

As shown in the San Francisco 49ers Playoff loss to the Giants. Is this so hard to do? I can get the way out of a punted football. The 49ers Punt Returner didn’t and it glanced off his leg for a fumble. Is it so hard to have a Special Teams Coach tell the Returner get out of the way of the football if you can’t catch it before each Punt Return?

6. Trying to kill time off the Play Clock to help run out the game Not Stay inbounds

Don’t run to the sidelines when making a run or a catch when your time is trying to run out the clock. A Quarterback can’t tell his receivers or runners this?

7. Roughing the passer on a “failed” third down play.

I know its really hard for a player not to rough the passer on a third down play even if they aren’t aware the play failed- Not!

Just preventing one of the above from happening in a game might make the difference between a win and a loss and you’d think NFL Head Coaches would be aware of that and do something. Instead a lot of Pro Football Coaches would rather spend hours on Minutiae instead of a taking a few seconds and preventing their team from making a preventable mental error. If you’re into Walt Disney Endings where everyone lives happily ever after, then the new Kiefer Sutherland “Touch” Fox TV Series about an autistic child’s gift, is for you. Unfortunately I’m not and like to keep things somewhat real. Imagine if you were watching “24″ and no one ever fired back at Jack Bauer. That’s kind of like what you are getting based on the pilot episode of Touch. It’s like a bad “Fantasy Island” meets “The Event” in that everything seems contrived, not natural and total nonsense.

Here are some examples of what totally turned me off “Touch”. Warning this contains spoilers:

1. A Kid apparently agrees or is pressured to become a Human Bomb. Somehow a phone operator talks the kid into disarming himself with the promise of a free $10,000 oven for his family’s bakery. The kid disarms himself and that’s it with all his scenes. The reality is the kid will wind up being killed by the people who wired him up for betraying them and his mission. Of course that is not brought up or even implied.

2. A total stranger who sells restaurant equipment is told by a telephone operator he has just called that a kid will blow himself up and kill others unless he gives him a free $10,000 oven. The salesman says yes of course, no problem. Do you want to buy the Brooklyn Bridge from me.

3. A guy just videos on a phone a female Office Worker performing Karaoke and promises to make her a star. He does this by putting the phone with the video into a total strangers brief case. He never thought of just putting it on You Tube himself? Of course a prostitute in Japan sees the video, steals the phone, sets up a fan club for the singer and she becomes a star.

Its Lost Smoke Monster Man in Black Titus Welliver TV World and we’re just living in it. Titus Welliver is obvious a Character Actor God as it seems like he’s over every TV series at once. Doesn’t Titus Welliver sleep? Probably not apparently but Gods don’t need sleep. Somehow Titus Welliver manages to play a slightly different variant of the same character on every TV series but makes it different enough so they’re all separately distinguished.

I just some him on the new Keifer Sutherland Series “Touch” and I’m not sure if he’s going to be a regular or recurring character on it but even though he acted like he was “the bad guy” may in fact be a “good guy” for once.

“Killing Bono” is the funniest rock movie I’ve seen since Spinal Tap and its like a talent rock version of Abbot and Costello making colossal screw-ups like you can’t believe but keep on carrying on. Surprisingly the rock music by our Abbot and Costello played by their band Shook Up is very, very good and gives this great movie about Irish cohorts of U2 authenticity which is more than I can say for other movies of this type. The Acting and Directing as well as the music is excellent and the 2 leads, Ben Barnes as Neil McCormick, Robert Sheehan as his brother Ivan McCormick and main supporting actor Martin McCann as Bono are terrific and quite believable.

I wasn’t even in a U2 fan but will be re-listening to their music again and being more open to it as a result of this movie. The main gist of the movie is that Neil McCormick screws his brother of the chance to join U2 when they were just forming and no famous unknown to his brother so that they can form their own rock band and make it big in the 1970′s themselves. Neil McCormick then proceeds to screw up every chance they have by making terrible decisions. The brother isn’t aware that he could have been in U2 and when he finds out a decade later, well……

I don’t want to give away any of this great entertaining movie but its so good it will be one of the rare movies I’ll rewatch which I think I’ve only done for “Animal House” and “Angel Heart”. I’m surprised “Killing Bono” didn’t get greater acclaim. It’s based on a true story adopted from the book “Killing Bono: I Was Bono’s Doppelganger” by Neil McCormick which I can’t wait to read. I just read online about 10 NBC TV 2012 (Fall TV) Pilots which with the exception of one by Rosanne Barr, sound like the same recycled, generic, unoriginal, failed TV series which got NBC their lousy ratings in the first place. NBC TV is like an NFL Coach (Hi Denver Broncos John Fox) who plays not to lose and as a result doesn’t win. You’d think NBC would take some chances as they have nowhere to go but up. But Noooooooooooooooooooooooo! No wonder more and more people are watching Cable TV Series instead of Network TV. The Rosanne TV Pilot is called Downwardly Mobile a comedy starring Rosanne Barr as the owner of a mobile home park and its inhabitants. Sounds like a great, funny and original idea with plenty of potential.

Here are the Other 9 NBC 2012 Pilots (My personal comments are next to a brief summary of what it appears the TV pilot is about).

County- A drama about a group of doctors, nurses and managers in a struggling Los Angeles hospital. Wow how exciting, can’t wait. Yeah, right.

Chicago Fire- Firefighters from Law & Order honcho Dick Wolf. Well rescue me!

Go On- comedy about a sportscaster trying to move on with his life from a loss. How sad. Or should I say “so funny I forgot to laugh”.

Animal Kingdom- “House” as a veterinarian comedy. Can’t wait. Nah.

Friday Night Dinner- comedy about a quirky family that eats dinner together every Friday developed from an English TV Comedy. “Coupling” anyone?

Jimmy Fallon Produced Untitled Comedy- Not starring Jimmg Fallon about three guys in their 30′s who haven’t grown up who are parents. Wow sounds hilarious, not.

Next Caller Please- Comedy about a brash male Satellite Radio DJ and his new feminist Radio co-host. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

Hilary Winston Untitled Comedy- Community writer Winston, we all know what a hit that show is, comedy about a shy woman who grows out of her shell and gets revenge on a fiance who dumped her. Wow, exciting, Yawn.

Daddy’s Girl- Comedy about a young woman living overseas who comes back home to discover her father is getting it on with the “Mean Girl From High School”. Wow, who cares?

If this is the best NBC can come up with its pretty pathetic. NBC ought to sponsor a contest where viewers can submit their own ideas for a TV Series and if NBC is interested gives the best ones a percent of the action if any ideas go to Pilot and Series. My personal idea would be “I Fought the Law” a “China Beach” type drama about the life and times of tragic Rock Star “Bobby Fuller” of “I Fought the Law Fame”, that would be part JFK Conspiracy Murder Mystery, part Hollywood 60s Sex, drugs and rock and roll and part Friday Night Lights/The Last Picture Show growing up in Texas. Ah the dreams.

I just watched the premiere of the new Fox TV Series Alcatraz, really liked it and can’t wait till the next episode and finding out more and getting answers to the time travel mystery. What I like really scares me though because I felt the same way about Lost and watched all six years of Lost Episodes that’s time I’ll never get back. Unlike the creators of Lost BS, Lost to me was not about the journey but the answers for which Lost was a colossal Shaggy Dog Story and a total scam and failure. The Creator’s essentially did not know the answers and basically wrote Lost on the Fly.

I hope in the case of Alcatraz the Creators do know the basic answers like how the people on Alcatraz from 1963 disappeared and arrived in 2012 un-aged, why they are committing their crimes, what their purpose is and who is behind everything. What scares me because of Lost for which TV Executives permanently lost credibility to me is that Alcatraz is being written on the Fly just like Lost. To those who haven’t seen the 2 hour Alcatraz pilot episode I recommend you do- it features a great didn’t see it coming twist at the end and hopefully Alcatraz won’t pull a Lost on us. April 1, 2012 is the premiere date of AMC The Killing Season 2 which seems appropriate as AMC and its arrogant egotistical Killing showrunner Veena Sud treated its Killing Season 1 viewers like a bunch of fools as many of us were bored by the slow moving contrived show but stuck with it because we expected a definitive ending with the answer to who killed Rosie Larsen. Basically AMC promoted the Killing to lead viewers to believe we would find out at the end who killed Rosie Larsen without any amds ifs or buts. But Noooooo! Even worse to this insult of AMC playing its viewers like fools, Veena Sud basically said if not implied to the media that she was proud of the Killing Season One finale and who said we owed viewers a definitive answer, yada yada yada.

I personally hope and expect the Killing Season 2 to tank because it will lose many of its Season 1 viewers because of how the Killing Finale ended and that the Veena Sud never gets another job in the entertainment industry. The bottom line is if you as a TV Viewer are tired of how TV Shows, TV Networks and TV executives treat you as a viewer the solution is The Killing Season 2 Audience Payback: Don’t Watch. I’ve recently received unwanted phone calls on my phone from 805-995-4454 which called me even though I was on the Do Not Call Register and just chose to ignore the Do Not Call List Law. They are telemarketers trying to sell auto insurance from it appears Cayucos, California in San Luis Obispo. The only way to stop them from disobeying the Do Not Call List Rules is to report them to the National Do Not Call Registry is by clicking this link and filing a complaint. Do not answer or return their phone calls.

If I had my way, unwanted phone callers (spammers) would get the Death Penalty! I hope these creeps don’t bother you again. As a general piece of advice get caller ID and do not answer the phone unless you know who it is. If you miss an important call the caller will obviously leave you a phone message if it is important enough.

The New England Patriots Denver Broncos Playoff Game I predict will set an NFL Football TV Ratings Record for all football games broadcast excluding the Super Bowl. Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos versus Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Rock Star against Rock Star it doesn’t come any better. If somehow the Denver Broncos manage to make it to the Super Bowl I expect that will be the Highest Rated TV Broadcast in the History of TV. Imagine when everyone saw the Beatles first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show if you’re old enough and multiply that tenfold!

Chances are the Denver Broncos won’t beat the New England Patriots but I’ll be rooting for them just the same. Denver might have beaten the Patriots the first time they played this season if they hadn’t fumbled the ball that much and if Head Coach John Fox finally plays to win instead of playing not to lose. Playing to win means that you know you’re going to have to score a bunch of points to beat the Patriots which means when its 4th and 1 you go for the first down with Tim Tebow running instead of going for a field goal. It means you go for a long field goal instead of a punt and you throw play action passes and let Tim Tebow play the game his way not the way a traditional NFL Quarterback would.

What I’m amazed at is, has any second year NFL quarterback like Tim Tebow who hardly played their first year ever been subjected to such criticism and second guessing for turning a 1-4 last place team into an 8-8 Division Champion who has beaten the mighty Pittsburgh Steelers in the playoffs? I realize that hiring a hitman to kill your husband is not supposed to be funny but the way it was presented on Dateline was outrageously hilarious like a real life “Roadrunner Cartoon” meeting “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”. This was without doubt the unintentionally funniest episode ever of Dateline.

Basically the Dalia Dippolito Case involved a woman with 2 supposed lovers on the side who tries to hire a Hitman to kill her husband of 6 Months only to have the “Hitman” turn out to be an undercover policeman whose police department films and stages everything. We see the bad acting response to the police when she is informed her husband has been “murdered”, the lying police interview for which she doesn’t give it up even after she is confronted with the film in front of her, the “it was only an attempt to be on Reality TV” defense and much more. The husband from what I can tell is a paroled felon with a past criminal history involving fraud and grand theft who originally met his wife when he hired her services as an escort. One of the lovers who was the one who got the police involved in the first place barely knew anything about the woman he was involved with based on what was shown on Dateline. Dalia Dippolito was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years but is currently out on bail appealing the conviction. She may actually have a good appeal case as the “lover who testified on videotape and could not be cross examined” was actually in the country but had gotten out of testifying in Court because was supposed to be out of the country.

If you like the movie “No Country for Old Men” then you will will love reading Max Allan Collins “No One Will Hear You”. I unfortunately hated “No Country for Old Men” because of the film’s lousy last 20 minutes and I hate “No One Will Hear You” because of the similar lousy last 37 pages which sucked and rendered my non-stop reading experience a total waste of time. The last 20 minutes or so of “No Country for Old Men” ruined the movie for me and because of that I think “No Country for Old Men” was one of the worst movies ever and I would rather see an Adam Sandler movie than “No Country”.

Believe it or not, I think Max Allan Collins is a great writer with an amazing flowing writing style and use of words which served the first 350 pages of “No One Can Here You” excellently. As a result, I’m angry about what I consider a totally phoned in Amateur idiotically written last 37 pages which I consider a disgrace for an author of Max Collins stature. A dumb high school kid could have written those 37 pages better. Max Collins ought to be ashamed. Those 37 pages were amateur writing at its worst.

Why I Think “No One Will Hear You” Sucked WARNING: SPOILERS

1. The Serial Killer is a Computer and All Around Evil Genius yet his Computer ISP is traced through emails he sent his victims beforehand. Is Max Collins a total Computer dufus? This is so idiotic Collins ought to be ashamed. Even computer illiterates know about ISP’s and how easily they can be traced back to the sender.

2. The Picture of the Serial Killer showing on his different persona website, wearing a wig of different hair color with his prominent high cheekbones is not immediately recognized as the boyfriend of Carmen by the Crime Seen TV Team’s Computer Expert who had met him earlier with Carmen at a lunch. This is like not recognizing Clark Kent as Superman.

3. The Serial Killer leaves his trademark Black Pearl Roses in visible sight and his bed is the same one the serial killer murdered one of the victims in which is obvious to his girlfriend Carmen when she enters his bedroom for the first time. And this guy is suppose to be a Genius? As an aside, Collins basically telegraphs that Carmen’s boyfriend is the Serial Killer before it is officially revealed. What Collins should have done is have Carmen’s boyfriend not be the serial killer and have the whole part which telegraphed him as “Don Juan” be in fact a Red Herring and have someone else be the Serial Killer. Also given that the Serial Killer knew Carmen’s personal email account and sent something via that email to the Team, they couldn’t have thought that maybe the Killer was someone who knew Carmen? Duh.

The Indianapolis Colts are the Dumbest Football Team in the History of the NFL and probably the dumbest team in the History of Professional Sports. Actually the Indianapolis Colts are beyond dumb, the are Dumb Hypocrites which is even worse. As everyone who follows Pro Football knows, the Indianapolis Colts by having the worst record in the NFL are in the position to land Andrew Luck, the most promising Quarterback to come out of College since the Colts Peyton Manning, with the number 1 NFL draft pick. Yet the Colts are so dumb and stupid that they “on record” will be trying to win their last game of the season, a total meaningless game, that if they win and the St. Louis Rams lose, will get the Rams the rights to the number one draft pick of the NFL. Bottom line, by losing the right to draft Andrew Luck, the top of the 2011 draft quarterbacks, the Indianapolis Colts will be setting their franchise back for the next 15 years for nothing. Or even worse, a hypocritical stance that the Indianapolis Colts play to win for the sanctity of competitive Football. Yeah right!

Understand this. In the 2009-2010 NFL Football Season, the Indianapolis Colts were 14-0, having clinched the AFC’s #1 Playoff Seed and instead of trying to go for an undefeated Season, took out their starters in the third Quarter so they would not risk an injury in the playoffs and the Jets went on to win, 29-15, ruining the Colts chance for an undefeated Season. Do you truly think the Colts pulling their starters was for the sanctity of competitive football?

So now its 2011 and the Colts who I am renaming the Indianapolis Hypocrites say they are going to try to win their final football game, Sis Boom Bah, cause that’s how they role. Its hard not to stop laughing. What a dumb bunch of hypocrites. Think of it, if the Colts did not have the Number 1 Draft Pick in 1998, they would have never drafted Peyton Manning and then where would they be? So now the Colts have the same chance if they lose to draft Andrew Luck but they may blow it all by being dumb hypocrites. By the time you read this, the Colts may still wind up with the Number 1 draft pick and Andrew Luck, but not through any intelligence on their part but by either unintentionally losing or the St. Louis Rams losing.

I hope for Indianapolis Colts fans that the Colts get the Number 1 Draft Pick and Andrew Luck. UPDATE January 1, 2012: The Colts Luck Out and lose the game anyway and get the Rights to Draft Andrew Luck! I’ve recently received unwanted phone calls on my phone from 281-217-0241 which called me even though I was on the Do Not Call Register and just chose to ignore the Do Not Call List Law. The only way to stop these clowns who are from Minnesota apparently trying to “phish” for credit card information from disobeying the Do Not Call List Rules is to report them to the National Do Not Call Registry is by clicking this link and filing a complaint. Do not answer or return their phone calls.

If I had my way, unwanted phone callers (spammers) would get the Death Penalty! I hope these creeps don’t bother you again. As a general piece of advice get caller ID and do not answer the phone unless you know who it is. If you miss an important call the caller will obviously leave you a phone message if it is important enough.

Here is my F/X American Horror Story Season 2 Preview of what I believe is going to happen based on my psychic TV prediction abilities- I did after all predict the suicide of Kutner (Kal Penn) on House a week before it happened! None of this is official, I don’t work in the entertainment industry and don’t have privy to what’s going on.

First off without Jessica Lange, there is no “American Horror Story” or “American Horror Story Season 2″. Jessica Lange is American Horror Story! Without Jessica Lange, American Horror Story Season One just doesn’t make it. Seriously would you have watched the entire Season if Jessica Lange as Constance Langdon was not on the series? Jessica Lange carried the show, she was the bread, butter, glue, heart and soul and held this absolutely insane show together and made convolution logical and believable! American Horror Story was my favorite new Fall 2011 TV Series and other than the lousy pilot and sucky disjointed finale each episode seemed better than the next. American Horror Story Season One would have been 1000 times better if it had ended with Episode 11, “Birth” with Vivien dying and giving birth instead of the dreadful cliched Episode 12 “Afterbirth”. That’s the problem I noticed with creator Ryan Murphy shows, he can’t produce good solid literate cohesive endings.

Ryan Murphy has now stated that “American Horror Story” is an anthology TV series which will feature primarily a new cast, new characters, new location and new storyline – nice of him to mention this not until Season One ended, with a few actors returning in different roles, here are my predictions.

I can almost guarantee Jessica Lange will be back playing her “Twin Sister” and one of the characters will be Constance’s lost 4th Child who was never accounted for our disappointment. I’m guessing the location will be in Florida and take place in a boarding school. I can see Jessica Lange in charge of the school. I’m looking forward to American Horror Story Season 2 with Jessica Lange. Without her I probably won’t watch Season 2.

Even more shocking than the online video of a FedEx worker delivering and destroying a FedEx delivery of a Computer Monitor below is that the FedEx employee who did this apparently was not fired by FedEx. I normally am against employees being fired cause everyone needs a job but when someone shows as little regard as this Fedex delivery man who unknowingly was caught on video, they deserve to be fired.

Seriously does this guy have pictures of FedEx executives or something? All I know is I want to work for FedEx. I mean if you can’t get fired for ruining FedEx reputation in 10 seconds and causing millions of dollars in bad publicity against FedEx, then FedEx sounds like the best company in the world to work for! For all you fans of the late, great, amazing John Lee Hooker and the great (TS McPhee) Tony McPhee and the Groundhogs, here is a superb complete live TV Broadcast of John Lee Hooker and the Groundhogs live 1965 performing “Boom Boom Boom” and “I’m Leaving”. You actually see more of TS McPhee and the Groundhogs on “I’m Leaving” but they rock the show out (The Beat Room 1965). I wish there were more footage available of that great John Lee Hooker and the Groundhogs 1965 English Concerts and I could have been to one of them!

The Groundhogs in 1965 consisted of Tony McPhee (Lead Guitar), Peter Cruickshank on bass, Dave Boorman on drums, and Tom Parker on keyboards. The Groundhogs that did the most well known original Groundhogs albums consisted of Tony McPhee(Lead guitar, vocals, songwriter), Peter Cruickshank (bass) and Ken Pustelnik on drums. Steve Rye played harp and contributed vocals on the Groundhogs first album. The Groundhogs in the video with John Lee Hooker also recorded an entire album with him titled “John Lee Hooker with the Groundhogs- Hooker & the Hogs” that’s worth getting but isn’t as exciting as the audio on the video. The biggest shocker of Boardwalk Empire Season 2 was not that Jimmy Darmody was killed but that Manny Horvitz lives. You can’t keep a bad man down! It looked like curtains for Manny Horvitz as surely he would be gunned down and written off the HBO Boardwalk Empire Series for cold bloodily murdering Jimmy Darmody’s wife but thank God, the Boardwalk Empire writers did a switcheroo and killed off Jimmy Darmody (Michael Pitt) instead. We now have another TV Season of the great William Forsythe playing Manny Horvitz, a Jewish gangster/thug/butcher/killer who just keeps on ticking. As a Jew, I have never seen a non-Jewish actor portray a Jewish character as convincingly and magnificently as William Forsythe as Manny. If there was any Justice in the world William Forsythe would win an Emmy Award but the politically correct PC Emmy voters probably won’t have even noticed him as to quote Tropic Thunder he didn’t go “full retard”.

Boardwalk Empire Season 2 featured William Forsythe in one of the greatest fight scenes I’ve ever seen in a TV or movie. It is a classic! Here is the fight full fight scene in all its glory in HD. The full scene including the set up for the failed assassination of Manny follows though in not as good video:

It is time for you to resign as NBA Commissioner David Stern. Resign now as you’ve destroyed the NBA in 2011 and turned it into a total circus with your foolish and unprecedented interference of the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets and New Orleans Hornets trade for Chris Paul, Pau Gasol, Luis Scola trade that has now become a non-trade, followed by the Los Angeles Clippers non-trade for Chris Paul and to top it off you have the NBA regular season beginning in 2 weeks when the teams don’t even know who is going to be on their rosters. In a year from now when the New Orleans Hornets have nothing to show for Chris Paul leaving via Free Agency I hope you will feel proud for letting your Ego and arrogance run wild and proving to yourself that you are bigger than pro basketball in your own mind.

The 2011 NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is self destructing the Mavericks because he can, which sucks. If this blog is premature I will delete it later but apparently the Dallas Mavericks will not be resigning free agents Tyson Chandler, JJ Barea, and Caron Butler, as they supposedly are not offering any of these players more than a one year deal when other teams have offered them multi year contracts. The loss of Tyson Chander and JJ Barea will hurt the Mavericks dearly as they were key contributers to the Mavericks NBA championship. I’ve always been a fan of team owner Mark Cuban even when he made the idiotic decision not to re-sign Steve Nash and essentially pay mediocre center Eric Dampier, Nash’s money. Cuban even if he made the wrong decision which I don’t think he ever publicly admitted, took the stance to not dwell on past mistakes and move forward and eventually built up a Championship Roster for the Mavericks, more power to him. I actually learned something valuable from how Mark Cuban handled the aftermath of his Steve Nash decision and moved forward to making the Mavericks the NBA Champion. Now however I think Mark Cuban has gone too far because He Can.

From what I’ve been reading in the Media which may not be what is actually going on, the Mavericks are not offering any of their free agents more than a one year contract because Cuban wants to free up NBA salary-cap space to attempt to sign one of the top NBA free agents in 2013. Only thing wrong with that is what if he doesn’t land one. I think Cuban himself would say don’t put all your marbles on one basket or you can lose it all. Well that apparently is what Mark Cuban is doing because he can. Boooooooooo!

I just discovered a professional sports team, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, which has to be the greatest Pro Sports Team Name ever in the United States. The Fort Wayne Mad Ants are a minor league basketball team of the NBA Development League, located in Fort Wayne, Indiana that has been in existence since 2007. As I am a basketball fan, I feel embarrassed that somehow until this week I did not know the Fort Wayne Mad Ants existed as I occasionally researched the rosters of the NBA Development League teams to see if a favorite college basketball player might be in the league. Somehow I must have missed, I don’t know how, The Fort Wayne Mad Ants, which has to be the greatest Professional Sports Team Name I’ve ever heard. When I first saw the name, I had to read it twice, thinking I was in error because Pro Sports Teams names are not that creative! If I was a good enough basketball player, I would have loved to play on a team named the Fort Wayne Mad Ant- no ands ifs or buts!

How a Professional Basketball Team named itself the Fort Wayne Mad Nuts

In 2007 a new NBA Development League franchise was formed affiliated with the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers and according to Wikipedia “held a name-the-team contest on their website where fans could vote on one of the four finalists: Lightning, Fire, Coyotes, and Mad Ants. The winning name of Mad Ants was announced June 18, 2007, chosen as a salute to the city’s and fort’s namesake, General “Mad” Anthony Wayne”, hence the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. The current coach of the Fort Wayne Mad Nuts is ex DePaul Blue Demons basketball coach Joey Meyer, son of the legendary DePaul Basketball Coach Ray Meyer. Mad Ant is the Official Mad Ants Mascot.

Who was General “Mad” Anthony Wayne?

Per Wikipedia under its free usage rights, “Anthony Wayne (January 1, 1745 – December 15, 1796) was a United States Army general and statesman. Wayne adopted a military career at the outset of the American Revolutionary War, where his military exploits and fiery personality quickly earned him a promotion to the rank of brigadier general and the sobriquet of Mad Anthony.

At the onset of the war in 1775, Wayne raised a militia unit and, in 1776, became colonel of the 4th Pennsylvania Regiment. He and his regiment were part of the Continental Army’s unsuccessful invasion of Canada where he was sent to aid Benedict Arnold, during which he commanded a successful rear-guard action at the Battle of Trois-Rivières, and then led the distressed forces at Fort Ticonderoga. His service resulted in a promotion to brigadier general on February 21, 1777. Later, he commanded the Pennsylvania Line at Brandywine, Paoli, and Germantown. After winter quarters at Valley Forge, he led the American attack at the Battle of Monmouth. During this last battle, Wayne’s forces were pinned down by a numerically superior British force. However, Wayne held out until relieved by reinforcements sent by Washington. This scenario would play out again years later, in the Southern campaign.

The highlight of Wayne’s Revolutionary War service was probably his victory at Stony Point. In July 1779 Washington named Wayne to command the Corps of Light Infantry, a temporary unit of four regiments of light infantry companies from all the regiments in the Main Army. On July 16, 1779, in a bayonets-only night attack lasting thirty minutes, three columns of light infantry, the main attack personally led by Wayne, stormed British fortifications at Stony Point, a cliffside redoubt commanding the southern Hudson River. The success of this operation provided a boost to the morale of an army which had at that time suffered a series of military defeats. Congress awarded him a medal for the victory.

On January 1, 1781, Wayne, then the commanding officer of the Pennsylvania Line of the Continental Army, was faced with a mutiny over pay and conditions that was one of the most serious of the war. The mutiny was successfully resolved by dismissing about one half of the line, which Wayne then had to rebuild. This work was largely completed by May 1781, but it delayed his departure to Virginia, where he had been sent to assist the Marquis de Lafayette against British forces operating there. The line’s departure was delayed once more when the men again complained about being paid in the nearly-worthless Continental currency. In Virginia, Wayne led Lafayette’s advance forces in an action at Green Spring, where he led a bayonet charge against the numerically superior British forces after stepping into a trap set by Charles Cornwallis. This increased his popular reputation as a bold commander. After the British surrendered at Yorktown, he went further south and severed the British alliance with Native American tribes in Georgia. He then negotiated peace treaties with both the Creek and the Cherokee, for which Georgia rewarded him with the gift of a large rice plantation. He was promoted to major general on October 10, 1783.

After the war, Wayne returned to Pennsylvania and served in the state legislature for a year in 1784. He then moved to Georgia and settled upon the tract of land granted him by that state for his military service. He was a delegate to the state convention which ratified the United States Constitution in 1788. In 1791, he served a year in the Second United States Congress as a U.S. Representative of Georgia but lost his seat during a debate over his residency qualifications and declined to run for re-election in 1792.

President George Washington recalled Wayne from civilian life in order to lead an expedition in the Northwest Indian War, which up to that point had been a disaster for the United States. Many American Indians in the Northwest Territory had sided with the British in the Revolutionary War. In the Treaty of Paris that had ended the conflict, the British had ceded this land to the United States. The Indians, however, had not been consulted, and resisted annexation of the area by the United States. The Western Indian Confederacy achieved major victories over U.S. forces in 1790 and 1791 under the leadership of Blue Jacket of the Shawnees and Little Turtle of the Miamis. They were encouraged and supplied by the British, who had refused to evacuate British fortifications in the region as called for in the Treaty of Paris.

Washington placed Wayne in command of a newly-formed military force called the “Legion of the United States”. Wayne established a basic training facility at Legionville to prepare professional soldiers for his force. Wayne’s was the first attempt to provide basic training for regular U.S. Army recruits and Legionville was the first facility established expressly for this purpose. He then dispatched a force to Ohio to establish Fort Recovery as a base of operations. On August 3, a tree fell on Wayne’s tent. He survived, but was rendered unconscious. By the next day, he had recovered sufficiently to resume the march. On August 20, 1794, Wayne mounted an assault on the Indian confederacy at the Battle of Fallen Timbers, in modern Maumee, Ohio (just south of present-day Toledo), which was a decisive victory for the U.S. forces, ending the war. Wayne then negotiated the Treaty of Greenville between the tribal confederacy and the United States, which was signed on August 3, 1795. The treaty gave most of what is now Ohio to the United States, and cleared the way for that state to enter the Union in 1803.

Wayne died of complications from gout on December 15, 1796 during a return trip to Pennsylvania from a military post in Detroit, and was buried at Fort Presque Isle (now Erie, Pennsylvania) where the modern Wayne Blockhouse stands. His body was disinterred in 1809 and, after boiling the body to remove the remaining flesh, as many of the bones as would fit in two saddlebags were relocated to the family plot in St. David’s Episcopal Church cemetery in Radnor, Pennsylvania. A legend says that many bones were lost along the roadway that encompasses much of modern U.S. Route 322, and that every January 1 (Wayne’s birthday), his ghost wanders the highway searching for his lost bone.”

I became obsessed with words that are singular and plural ever since I saw the great sicko Horror Movie, “Wishmaster” starring Andrew Divoff of Lost and somehow misunderstood along with my niece that Jinn is the only word that is both singular and plural. A jinn or Djinn is a Genie. Both my niece and I said, wow, only the Jinn is singular and plural but when we thought about it that were many other words that were both singular and plural. It turned out years later when I watched “Wishmaster” free online on IMDB (under related videos), I found out that Wishmaster’s quote was that the Jinn was singular and plural not the only word that was singular and plural:

Was 48 Hours Mystery on crack broadcasting Murder at the Manner last night featuring American Millionaire self admitted murderer Harold Landry, “H” to his friends and his English Gold Digging younger wife Lucy Davies aka Lucy Landry who he murdered? I love 48 Hours Mystery but “Murder at the Manner” was the most ridiculous episode I’ve ever seen on 48 Hours Mystery- what exactly was the mystery as Harold Landry confessed he did it! Correspondent Richard Schlesinger was practically laughing when he interviewed Harold Landry in Prison about the murder and Lucy Davies son had the nerve to call Harold Landry loathsome when it appears his mother just married Harold Landry for his money and goaded him wanting more, more, more and took on a lover and flaunted it to Landry’s face! Totally bizarre. Please keep in mind my opinions are based strictly on what was shown in this episode and we all know how The Media tends to misrepresent things. Still watching this 48 Hours Episode felt like I was on a Bad LSD Trip!

No offense to Harold Landry or Lucy Davis’s family but I would describe Lucy Davis as Average Looking not Beautiful and if Harold Landry just wanted a trophy wife he certainly could have gotten a better looking woman than Lucy Davis. I don’t think Lucy Davies realized how good she had it when Harold Landry married her! All these American News Shows like NBC Dateline, ABC 20-20 and CBS 48 Hours Mystery always seem to describe average looking murder victims as beautiful which is why I don’t trust these shows in the first place!

While I’m sorry Lucy Davies was murdered which no one deserves and provocation is not a legal defense or murder defense as far as I know, its pretty apparent she married Harold Landry, 28 years her senior, for money and eventually took on a lover and kept provoking Harold Landry by trying to get more and more money off him, flaunting her lover in his face. What did she expect? OK not murder but she was no innocent, sorry. Bottom line, why was this shown on “48 Hours Mystery”?

Is there a private plane crashes cover-up hiding deaths of children in the United States? Quite simply, why are there seemingly no accurate records of Private Plane Crashes online reflecting actual fatalities? Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong which I very well could be but it seems like every week in every city in the United States there are private plane crashes resulting in deaths and serious injuries to the pilot and passengers aboard yet I couldn’t seem to find any records online that give statistics of private plane crashes annually? Yeah sure I see statistics online but the semantics are misleading and they seem to be accounting for commercial plane crashes and don’t reflect on the weekly private plane crashes in the United States. Don’t believe me. Then see if some recent local small plane plane crash that you know of is included in this Listing.

I admit I’m biased as I’ve been afraid to fly ever since Ronald Reagan fired Air Traffic Controllers in 1981 and I can’t deal with the fact that I have no control over my destiny when I get on a plane but that has nothing to do with this article. Honestly, I have no problem with qualified people flying their own private plane or private jet. What I have a problem with are pilots, however qualified, flying their wife and kids on their planes and then crashing. This seems to be a pretty regular occurrence in the United States or at least some variance of it. I truly believe that laws would be passed banning anyone under 17 or married couples with children from flying in a private plane if there were Published Records Widely Available of Private Plane Crashes in the United States. In my opinion the people who fly their wives and family on their private plane are being selfish as they don’t seem to consider the possibility, however remote, that their plane could crash and what happens to the family then? I know my parents wouldn’t even fly together on large commercial jets so in case there was a crash, they wouldn’t leave me an orphan.

Rock and Roll Pioneer Gene Vincent’s 1970 comeback single “The Day the World Turned Blue” is the greatest record never heard. In fact until this week I never heard it. I basically started rediscovering Gene Vincent (and the Blue Caps) whose “Be-Bop-A-Lula” is one of the classic original songs that started Rock and Roll after watching a great 1969 documentary on Gene Vincent’s Final tour of England shortly before his death which you can watch in its 34 minute entirety Clicking Here (Its the final video on the link’s web page under a picture of Gene Vincent).

As I was saying, I wasn’t familiar with Gene Vincent’s recordings other than his hits (Be Bop a Lula, Race with the Devil, Blue Jean Bop, Crazy Legs, etc.) and after watching the video, I started to listen to all Gene Vincent’s recordings and I heard “The Day the World Turned Blue” for the first time, one of Gene Vincent’s final recordings and was shocked what an incredible great record it was and even more shocked it was neither a hit nor covered by another recording artist as it had a number 1 written all over it. If for nothing else, I’m surprised the record didn’t sell upon Gene Vincent’s tragic premature death at 36 in 1971. See if you agree:

“The Day the World Turned Blue” was written by Gene as a tribute to Buddy Holly from what I can gather and released by Kama Sutra Records (yes there really was a record company with that name back then) both as a single and an album with the same title. While the album is OK at best, its not in the league of “The Day the World Turned Blue” title track. Gene Vincent deserved better. Hail Hail Rock and Roll.

It will eventually be revealed Violet is Dead on the FX Networks American Horror Story. Long live her ghost. I’ve become addicted to American Horror Story and other than the pilot episode which I thought sucked because it tried too hard and was too pretentious and arty, every American Horror Story episode seems better than the next. Unfortunately, unless it is the biggest Red Herring I’ve ever seen on a TV series, American History Story has all but telegraphed that Violet Harmon is dead by informing her parents she hasn’t been in school in 2 weeks. As ghosts according to American Horror Story can’t leave the property they die in except for Halloween it now looks 98% likely that when Violet took an overdose of prescription medicine she bought the bucket. Long Live Violet!

It appears that John Elway would rather the Denver Broncos go 8-8 with a generic NFL Quarterback than win the Super Bowl with Tim Tebow. At least that’s my opinion and I’m sure many other NFL fans. I’m also sure if the Denver Broncos did win the Super Bowl with Tim Tebow, John Elway might trade Tim Tebow the following season and draft some generic College Quarterback in the first round of the NFL Draft anyway. What exactly has John Elway ever accomplished as an NFL Executive? Yeah the Broncos drafted Von Miller under Elways watch but he probably wouldn’t have gone wrong picking anyone with the second pick of the NFL Draft. Before I get hate comments, I officially acknowledge John Elway was a great football player. But just because he was a great football player doesn’t mean he knows what he’s doing running an NFL football team especially in his first year.

If you compare Tim Tebow’s statistics at point in his career to John Elway’s and other NFL Quartberbacks records at a similar stage, I believe Tim Tebow’s statistics and won and loss records are better than Elways and anyone elses. Yet Tim Tebow doesn’t get a vote of confidence from John Elway while those other NFL Quarterbacks were fully supported by their teams management at that stage in their career. I’m not saying Tim Tebow is a great passer. Far from that. But its too early in his career for Denver Broncos Management to seemingly dog him out. After all, if his throwing arm is so bad, how did he win all the ganes he did as the University of Florida Quarterback. And he has just one turnover to date.

The Obvious Question Which No One is Asking- Why Don’t the Broncos Use the Same Offense and Offensive Plays that Tim Tebow Wins Games in the 4th Quarter?

The thing that perplexes me most about Denver Broncos Head Coach John Fox and Offensive Coordinator Mike McCoy is why don’t they use the same offense and Offensive Plays that Tim Tebow wins games in the 4th quarter for the entire game? I don’t get it. Sometimes it is what it is.

The Future of John Elway and Tim Tebow

What I don’t think John Elway seems to grasp is that the Denver Broncos fans buy Denver Bronco Tickets to see Tim Tebow play Denver Broncos football not John Elway make executive decisions. Quite simply, if the Broncos make or just miss making the playoffs and John Elway decides to trade Tim Tebow or obtain another quarterback to be the Denver Broncos starter, John Elway will eventually be run out of town and the Denver Broncos will lose millions. Well if it wasn’t 100% clear before, it sure is now when a well known, Celebrity Football Star lost his job for daring to support his College Football Coach despite the lynch mob mentality of the American Media crucifying an American Football Legend without knowing all the facts. This isn’t about the innocence or guilt of Joe Paterno, its about how one is no longer allowed to voice an opinion different than the American Media without being punished for it.

The Good Wife Kalinda made TV History last night as a TV character’s accent suddenly changed nationality for an entire episode of this CBS TV Series. Actress Archie Panjabi who has played Kalinda Sharma on The Good Wife for the past three years suddenly went from speaking with an American accent to her native English accent for what seemed like an entire episode of The Good Wife titled “Death Row Trip”. In my opinion this was an insult to the intelligence of TV viewers as apparently either the actress, the director or the people who oversee “The Good Wife” didn’t think or care that viewers would notice. I confess I can’t stand the Kalinda character and am probably in the heterosexual minority as I don’t find her to be as sexy as her character seems to think she is- her breasts are too small for me but that’s not why I’m upset. For the record I can’t stand implants and prefer natural large breasts.

Here’s an example of the Good Wife British Accent Fiasco that I found on You Tube. Pay careful attention to 18 seconds on as Kalinda goes from American to English Accent. If this was just an isolated incident of this episode I would have said no big deal but the pronounced English Accent switching goes on throughout the episode.

I don’t have problems when English or Australian actors occasionally accidentally revert to their native accents saying a word or a phrase but for an entire TV episode that’s not acceptable or professional for me as a TV viewer. The Good Wife owes its audience an explanation for this accent fiasco. I just hope they don’t say that Kalinda will be speaking with a British accent for the remainder of the series. By the way, trying to make the Alicia Florrick character sexier doesn’t make it as its forced and doesn’t seem natural, nothing personal Julianna Margulies and the Alicia – Will affair, is boring, overdone and has no chemistry whatsoever. The best way to clean a CD (Compact Disc) from dirt, fingerprints, grime, etc. is with an Ultrasonic Cleaner. In my opinion the Kendal Large Digital Ultrasonic Cleaner for Jewelry Watch DVD (CD) with 750ml tank is the best Ultrasonic Cleaner for CD’s. Note, CD cleaning is different from CD repair for things like compact disc scratches. On a lot of CD players, mine included and I have an expensive Doge 6 CD Player as well as a Jolida JD-100 CD player, dirt, fingerprints, grime etc., can cause music to skip, break up even if the CD is not technically broken and even possibly not sound as good as the CD should. Compared to other CD cleaners, both manual and electronic as well as Ultrasonic, the Kendal Large Digital Ultrasonic Cleaner does the best job in cleaning a CD. To repair a CD from scratches you need a CD repair kit which unfortunately does not do actual cleaning very well in my experience and is a whole different electronic device from a CD cleaner.

To quote Wikipedia under its free use act, “An ultrasonic cleaner is a cleaning device that uses ultrasound (usually from 20–400 kHz) and an appropriate cleaning solvent (sometimes ordinary tap water) to clean delicate items. The ultrasound can be used with only water but use of a solvent appropriate for the item to be cleaned and the soiling enhances the effect.” “In an ultrasonic cleaner, the object to be cleaned is placed in a chamber containing a suitable solution (in an aqueous or organic solution, depending on the application). An ultrasound generating transducer built into the chamber, or lowered into the fluid, produces ultrasonic waves in the fluid by changing size in concert with an electrical signal oscillating at ultrasonic frequency. This creates compression waves in the liquid of the tank which ‘tear’ the liquid apart, leaving behind many millions of microscopic ‘voids’ or ‘partial vacuum bubbles’ (cavitation). These bubbles collapse with enormous energy; temperatures and pressures on the order of 5,000 K and 20,000 lbs per square inch are achieved however, they are so small that they do no more than clean and remove surface dirt and contaminants. The higher the frequency, the smaller the nodes between the cavitation points, which allows for cleaning of more intricate detail.

The Kendal Large Digital Ultrasonic Cleaner works easily cleaning CDs or DVDs as follows: You set the timer from 180 to 240 seconds (180 is the default and should work fine), put your CD in the chamber with the shiny (non-label side) facing up attached to the easy CD holder, pour regular tap water into the Ultrasonic Cleaner chamber, close the lid and then turn the power on. It will proceed to ultrasonic clean the CD and automatically turn off at the time you set. You then take the CD out, clean both sides with a soft towel or paper towel and empty the chamber of the water and dry it with a paper towel after you’ve unplugged the power cord if you don’t plan to immediately use it again.

Ultrasonic Cleaners also ultrasonically clean eyeglasses, jewelry, coins, keys, etc. but not all Ultrasonic Cleaners clean CDs because they could be too small to fit a CD in, despite how they are advertised. If you are buying an Ultrasonic Cleaner for CDs, you won’t go wrong with the The Kendal Large Digital Ultrasonic Cleaner.

Cohen’s Knishes (Cohens Potato Knishes) are the most affordable best tasting frozen knishes I’ve eaten outside restaurant Potato Knishes served in New York Deli. I was honestly shocked how good Cohen’s Potato Knishes tasted. I initially bought them as a cheap experiment as they only cost around $6 in a package of 4 frozen potato Knishes. Best of all, they only take 90 seconds to microwave ready to eat (I run my microwave for 2 minutes doing 2 knishes at a time).

It’s not like I haven’t gotten good Knishes in Delis and Restaurants outside of New York City but they cost a relative fortune- around $6 for a single potato knish. While Cohen’s Knishes are a lot smaller then Restaurant Knishes and Delicatessen Knishes, they sure are a lot cheaper averaging about $1.50 apiece. You can find Cohen’s Knishes at Supermarkets and online. If you like Potato Knishes, Cohen’s Potato Knishes are a treat!

NBC’s Grimm is the best new Fall 2011 TV Series in my opinion. I was surprised how good the Grimm Pilot episode was and I hope it continues to be as good in future episodes. The Grimm cinematography was amazing and functioned as a main character. I usually don’t notice cinematography which for this TV series was absolutely perfect and set the tone and shaped the storyline for Grimm and added to the scares and shaped the viewers mood. What also made Grimm so good was that it was like a gritty spooky more realistic version of “Supernatural” without most of the pop culture references meeting a “Law and Order” type procedural. The bad guys and the crimes were actually a lot scarier then “Supernatural” because the bad guys in their human guise were ordinary people living ordinary human lives though they were in fact “Monsters” for lack of a better term. Their victims also seemed more realistic then you usually see in Supernatural type thrillers.

Grimm is basically the anti “Once Upon a Time” another new 2011 TV series. While both series are about the premise that “Fairy Tale Characters Are Alive”, Once Upon a Time is more a family type kiddie show and “Grimm” is a nasty type show that teenagers and adults would like with gory murders by fairy tale monsters doing 21 century versions of Fairy Tale Murderous Mayhem.

Kudos to two of the main leads: David Giuntoli as Detective Nick Burckhardt who finds out he is a Grimm (a hunter of Fairy Tale Monsters) and Silas Weir Mitchell as Eddie Monroe, a reformed Big Bad Wolf who provides Grimm’s humor without overdoing it. While I am ashamed and embarrassed to admit that until a few years ago I occasionally watched MTV’s The Real Road and Road Rules, David Giuntoli actually was on Road Rules as a recent college graduate and became an actor afterwards and does a really good acting job in Grimm. I didn’t even recognize him from Road Rules! Silas Weir Mitchell who you probably recognize from “Prison Break” usually plays insane warped psychotic characters and his Big Bad Wolf character, actually gives him a warmer role with humor but still with the warped type character. I hope NBC doesn’t tinker with an excellent formula and doesn’t water Grimm down. Grimm is easily the best New Fall 2011 TV series.

Bank of America Debit Cards are still free for certain Bank of America Accounts no matter what you’ve probably heard. Bank of America has without doubt the worst Public Relations Department in the World because there will not be a $5 monthly Bank of America debit card charge if you have certain B of A Accounts like a Prima Bank of America Account for instance that doesn’t require tons of money.

I found out about all this when I visited my local Bank of America Branch this week when the cashier asked me how its going and I said somewhat nastily “Not too good since you’re going to be charging my Debit Card $5 a month”. I was shocked when she replied, “No you won’t have any monthly debit card fees with the Prima Account you have”. I thought she made a mistake and then I confirmed this with a Bank of America Officer at the Branch who was somewhat upset that the word got out that Bank of America was going to be charging $6 a month for all debit cards. He explained that info did not come from Bank of America and that if you had certain types of B of A Accounts, there still would not be a monthly debit card fee.

All of which begs the question why didn’t Bank of America Public Relations Department make this info known instead of (possibly) finding this out through the Gifts and Free Advice Blog. Right of Way Car accidents with my bicycle and/or electric scooter have been the only times I’ve ever been close to getting hurt in a “bicycle” accident. This has happened to me multiple times and outside of that I’ve never been close to get into any other kind of bicycle accident with another car. I call these potential right of way car bicycle accidents Dead Right: You’ve done nothing wrong but are the victim of an idiot driver who has No Excuse Whatsoever! This is a blog about Bicycle Accident Prevention from Right of Way Accidents during daylight hours only.

If you want to avoid getting into a bike accident with a car always assume that every driver is an idiot so you’ll be prepared to ride defensively and be alert at all times. When you’re riding past a drive way and or an intersection, I recommend you put your hands gently over your bicycle brake handles, slow down a little, stare directly into the eyes of a driver if he’s pulling out or continuing to go in your path and be prepared to stop immediately if the driver doesn’t stop, even though you have the right of way. I can’t tell you how many times an idiot driver continues to drive even though he sees you are in his path and you Legally have the Right of Way and the Driver Doesn’t. You may think that you should keep on riding and force the driver to stop as you are Legally in the Right but all this may cause is what I call being Dead Right: You legally were right to continue riding but you’re dead because the car driver was an idiot who broke the Law! Believe it or not, this has also happened to me on pedestrian crosswalks with the Green Light on in my direction and a driver trying to turn the corner and not stopping!

If I had my way, any driver involved in a right of way accident during daylight hours would have their drivers license revoked for the rest of their lives and serve a mandatory 10 years in jail if the bicycle rider suffered physical damage. There simply is no excuse for a driver to get into right of way bicycle accidents during daylight hours and I wish that the law would make the criminal penalties more severe. However much the driver may be the Idiot, if you don’t want to be the victim don’t be Dead Right. When push comes to shove, ride defensively and give them the right of way even though you are in the right!

Law and Order SVU Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) totally insulted rape victims in the latest Season 13 SVU episode “Double Stands”. I consider myself one of the least Politically Correct people around but even for me Law and Order SVU TV went too far in Sensitivity Unawareness and it looks like no one associated with SVU even cares anymore about the shows writing. I’m referring to SVU Detective Olivia Benson’s classic line “Wow, he really got you good” to a female rape victim after she had just been raped. Like that is supposed to comfort a woman who has just been raped and said by an NYPD Detective? I’m really surprised Mariska Hargitay agreed to speak that line which was totally unnecessary to the storyline. Either she said those lines without any thought or maybe she just doesn’t care any more as she collects her millions. Who knows? If I was an actress I would feel ashamed to say that line.

I’ve constantly criticized Law and Order SVU writing for having ridiculous writing and storylines in the past but telling a rape victim “Wow, he really got you good” is as pathetic script-writing and dialogue as low as you can go.

Netflix has to be the most successful idiotic company in the world. Somehow in the space of a few months they’ve gone from a DVD Rental Mail order Business that was a “No Brainer” to pay and sign up for to a company that has totally tarnished its reputation and brand which much of the public no longer trusts. You probably know that already but what you don’t know and honestly I don’t know, is if Netflix bothered to do Market Research on how its subscribers would react to a huge price increase, changing its Brand Name from Netflix to Qwikster (Pure genius Name not) and getting rid of its website to create two different web sites offering DVD rentals and online movie streaming?

What is Consumer Market Research? Essentially its previewing how consumers will react to certain changes in a product before those changes are introduced to the public so if something doesn’t test well the product will not be introduced to market and millions of dollars will be saved by the company. Obviously either Netflix did not test what the public’s reaction would be to their changes ahead of time or they have the worst market research department in the world in my opinion. I’m speculating that based on Netflix’s actions they didn’t bother to do Market Research which is lunacy for a Billion Dollar Company like Netflix. How insane is that. But then again Netflix changed its useful New DVD Releases of the week format to one that sucks and is not useful.

Honestly, I don’t know how Netflix CEO and the people responsible for these decisions can hold their jobs but this is the Age of Mike Judge’s Idiocracy which you can rent from Netflix! Ironically I don’t mind paying the $30 or so I do pay a month from Netflix cause I basically can afford it since I stopped going to movies cause it got too expensive and was a hassle!

I am a fairly young looking 56 year old lady. I took an early retirement as a teacher from a public school system, from which I worked since my early 20′s. Basically, I was forced out because it was expected that I would have excellent computer skills to use in today’s classroom. Unfortunately this would not work for me. In the words of Judge Judy: “I’m not wired that way.” So reluctantly I have found the need to reinvent myself in today’s economy.

First, I applied in person for one of those seasonal Halloween stores. I knew the moment I walked in that I would never get hired. The manager was half my age and the few persons that I saw working there had many piercings and multi colored hair. I was told the usual BS, “I’ll be calling you in a few weeks.” I have stopped in twice and was told that business was slow. It may be slow, but I saw several workers with the piercings and multi colored hair, all under age 30. I thought about hiring an Age Discrimination Lawyer but as this was for a low paying job I decided not to.

Next, I applied to a major department store of which I hold a credit card and have given much business over the years. I dressed the way it said to online. Closed shoes (even though it was 100 degrees outside), conservative clothing, etc. As soon as I walked into the HR department, I was kept waiting over 30 minutes for my interview. I told the receptionist that my appointment was for 12:15. However, no one wanted to interview me at that time because they were busy eating lunch? So I was kept waiting and waiting. Finally the receptionist got one annoyed looking person half my age to interview me. She took one look at me and I could tell immediately I would never be hired. Bitch! I had to look HER in the eye and make HER shake my hand. Then she left me waiting another 15 minutes to make a phone call. After this ridiculous interview, I thanked her, even though I was furious for obviously wasting my time once again. I went home feeling dejected. I went to look at my online mail. This was the quickest rejection I have ever received. Twenty minutes after the interview! Well, this may be sour grapes, but I tore up my credit card vowing to never shop that store again. I’ll show them. HAH!

Here are Terra Nova Time Travel spoilers, answers and ponderings I’ve picked up online that may answer a few questions you may have or give you pause for thought. While I enjoyed the FOX Network Terra Nova pilot, I have to admit it didn’t reach my expectations as I was expecting something more tantalizing with fireworks but it wasn’t a dud either. I personally would have liked to have seen and learned more about the present 2149 Earth and especially liked to have seen how the rich people in the dome lived.

1. Can there be communication between Terra Nova Management (Taylor) in 85 million BC and Earth in the Present?

Apparently communication between the Present and Terra Nova Management in the past was alluded to in the Pilot episode. On the surface this doesn’t make any sense because how can you communicate between two Alternate Timelines which leads to question:

2. Could they have actually gone back in time to our Time Stream and not to an alternate time stream?

I believe the fact that they couldn’t find the Probe in our present that they sent to the past is either a big Lie perpetrated by the Government or whoever is in charge of the Terra Nova Project or for whatever reason- 85 million years is a long time for something to exist, the probe no longer exists or can be found. Thus Terra Nova does not exist in an Alternate Time Stream as has been perpetrated but our Time Stream which can in fact change the future. I have a feeling this will be a big Season One Cliffhanger ending.

3. What could Taylor’s son be up to if he isn’t dead and what’s up with the writings?

The speculation I like best is that somehow Taylor’s son wound up going back eventually further in time and he left scientific markings in the past that would somehow be found in the future in Terra Nova to somehow bring him back to the Terra Nova present.

4. Why exactly aren’t the weapons strong enough to kill the Dinosaurs?

I think this is a Major Plothole with no real answer other than the writers screwed up.

5. Why isn’t Terra Nova populated by people from foreign countries?

Maybe the United States was the only country to develop a Terra Nova project and the only people allowed to live in Terra Nova were American citizens.

6. How come no one eats barbecued Dinosaurs?

Maybe the Terra Novans are all Vegetarians!

7. Why isn’t the Shannon’s daughter, sorry forgot her name, the least bit concerned that her brother is missing and possibly being eaten up by Dinosaurs and her parents are in danger of the same fate going into the jungle trying to rescue him? All the daughter seems to be concerned about is getting the attention of a teenage boy while 3/5 of her family may be getting killed at the very moment.

The daughter is a self absorbed, self entitled, teenager. I guess they have them in 2149 like we have them in 2011!

8. Is it possible there could be Aliens and Advanced Civilizations nearby on Terra Nova?

If in fact Terra Nova is in an alternate time line then things could have evolved differently there.

Well I hope these possible spoilers, answerings and speculations give you something to think about and I hope Terra Nova gets better in the weeks to come.

DC Comics Wonder Woman Breast Reduction is a PC mistake that I predict will cost DC Comics millions of dollars in sales by doing the comic book version of Netflix ignoring the consumers wants. If it’s not broken, then destroy it! Seriously who does DC think buys Wonder Woman comics? It’s not young women and adult females looking for an empowering female but teenage and adult males who enjoy Wonder Woman’s incredible breasts and figure. Well those incredible Wonder Woman breasts are no more as DC Comics have given Wonder Woman a huge breast reduction. So now Wonder Woman looks like an average woman drawn politically correct.

Oddly enough, DC Comics seems to have increased the graphic violence portion in Wonder Woman comics in proportion to the reduction of Wonder Woman’s breasts. Hate to break it to DC Comics but men do not buy Playboy to look at average looking women and by making Wonder Woman a politically correct average looking woman, I expect Wonder Woman comics will suffer a huge drop in circulation. DC Comics made the cardinal mistake: Politically Correctness doesn’t sell.

Having seen the 2011 Wonder Woman TV Pilot starring Adrianne Palicki, its easy to understand why it was not picked up by NBC because it is to misquote Larry David, “pretty, pretty, pretty bad”. The following review, reflects my personal superficial tastes, opinions and personal dislike of breast implants.

I always found Adrianne Palicki a goodlooking woman but Adrianne Palicki does not look good in Wonder Woman either as Wonder Woman or Diana Themyscira her human identity (she also has a 2011 Diana Prince secret identity- more about that later). Her mole between her eyes which I never particularly noticed before looks prominent and awful and gives her the appearance of a third eye! Her hair particularly as Wonder Woman looks like a terrible black wig that looks like it could be blown off by a burst of wind and only looks slightly better as Diana Themyscira. The fact is it looks like a wig worn in a high school play. Maybe it is Palicki’s real hair, I don’t know, but it looks like a wig. Couple that with what I believe to be a bad set of breast implants- since when does Wonder Woman have breast implants, which seem to go up and down 2 sizes every 10 minutes, Adrianne Palicki does not look good enough physically to be Wonder Woman in that she doesn’t look beautiful and Wonder Woman is supposed to be beautiful (Contrast Lynda Carter Vintage 1977 and Adrianne Palicki above). Her outfits look like bad Halloween outfits particularly when she wears the traditional “Wonder Woman Costume” in the final scene where her shorts look like underwear.

Even more laughable is the actor who plays Steve Trevor Wonder Woman’s lover and ex-lover. This actor looks like someone who was cast from porn movies. That’s probably not true in reality but that was my visual impression.

As to the 2011 Wonder Woman TV pilot, the directing and storyline are totally choppy, lacking structure and cohesion. Instead of flowing smoothly and seamlessly from scene to scene it looks like various different parts were filmed seperately and just stuck together instead of seguing together effortlessly. The scenes where Wonder Woman goes off as Diana Prince to a normal apartment are completely unnecessary and add nothing to the pilot. In fact all they do is detract. Wonder Woman proceeds to break every law in the book which would get her 25 years to life in prison and escapes prosecution when it turns out her ex-boyfriend Steve Trevor is the Federal Prosecutor handling her situation. Yeah like in real life the Federal Government would get away by making a suspect’s Special Prosecutor or whatever he’s called, an ex-boyfriend!

I forgot to mention the beginning scene of Wonder Woman 2011 which is a cardinal mistake for any TV Pilot- they don’t feature the Title character at all and you aren’t aware you’re Watching Wonder Woman! Instead we see a scene where a Black family is gathered together as the son opens an envelope to reveal he’s got a college scholarship and then weird stuff comes out of his eyes as he collapses. If I was watching this, I would have no idea I was watching Wonder Woman who doesn’t make the scene until a few minutes later.

NBC in my opinion made the right choice in turning down the Wonder Woman TV Pilot as it really had nothing to offer and was poor cast, poorly written and poorly directed in my opinion. Long live Lynda Carter!

Here’s how to improve your Ezip 1000 Electric Scooter greatly if you value comfort and convenience for under $85. Currie Technologies the manufacturer of the Ezip 1000 and other electronic scooters as well as electric bikes may wish to take note. I recently bought the Ezip 1000 to replace my 5 year old S-1000 electric scooter which had finally worn down. I use my electric scooter mainly for Grocery Shopping and errands locally. This is how I improved my Ezip 1000 electric scooter (see photo above taken while I was recharging the scooter)

For maximum comfort I recommend you replace the Ezip 1000 Seat with the Serfas E-Gel Cruiser Bicycle Saddle Seat (pictured above as well as on my Ezip 1000 scooter). The Serfas E-Gel Cruiser Bicycle Saddle is so much more comfortable than the Ezip 1000 Seat, its a night and day difference in my opinion. The Serfas Saddle is basically much plumper, padded and smoother. To quote Serfas, “Serfas E-Gel saddles help smooth things over with Soflex, an innovative infinite stretch material that creates a seamless, low friction interface between bike and rider. Serfas E-Gel saddles also combine 30% more gel than other saddles in it’s class to deliver the plushest ride.” I paid $49 for my Serfas E-Gel Cruiser Bicycle Saddle on Sale at Amazon and paid the local bike store $5 to put it on the Ezip 1000 and replace its seat.

As I use my electric scooter for Grocery Shopping and other errands, its important that I have a basket on my scooter to put Groceries in. Currie Technologies sells a very small basket to attach to the back of your electric scooter, in fact I used it for my Stealth 1000 scooter but I discovered that for a cheaper price than Currie’s smaller basket, I could get a larger 14.5″x9.5″x9″ basket at my bicycle store to stick in the back of my EZIP 1000. The Bike Store basically charged me $35 for a Wald Bicycle Basket (Wald 133 Quick Release Black Basket) which include the basket and their installation of it to the Ezip 1000. They took off the baskets handle as it wasn’t needed and secured it perfectly. I can now fit many more items into my cart than the smaller Currie one I had before. For groceries, I also carry one of those Grocery Store Shoulder Tote Bags. I would check at your local Bike Store and see if they carry Wald Bicycle Baskets or a similar large basket and have them attach one to your scooter. For myself, I didn’t notice it affecting my scooter balance or speed at all but then I only use my electric scooter for local errands.

Update: I forgot to include the Kryptonite New York LS Bicycle U-Lock which is a must if you don’t want your scooter to be ripped off. I prefer the 4-Inch x 10.25-Inch version though it comes in a smaller size. Kryptonite Locks are a great deterrent to thieves as they take forever to cut off, time a thief doesn’t have. They retail for $95 but you can get a new Kryptonite New York LS Bicycle U-Lock ( 4-Inch x 10.25-Inch) for $63.75 at Amazon by clicking this link.

I think the Ezip 1000 Currie Electric Scooter is excellent but if you get a better seat and a larger basket it will be fantastic!
