If any of you are trying to put together a great quality Home Theater System with Blu-Ray but just don’t think you can afford the cost, I put together High Quality Blu-Ray Home Theater System for you which you can obtain from different online sources at your option if you wish. It’s kind of how I put my system together which is in fact is this fantastic system. If this can help you out, great. If not, maybe it will help guide you to what you’re looking for. This system is a combination of New and Used Equipment. I’ve left out used Video equipment such as DVD Recorders and HDTV’s. Used DVD Recorders never last and I’d never chance anything on a used HD TV. Here goes:

7.1 Denon 3801 Receiver Used on Ebay for $125 – 200 Originally Retailed for $1100

I love this receiver. Excellent incredible sweet powerful old time 735 watt sound. CDs sound great listening on 5.1 natural channel stereo mode and DVDS and TV are terrific. Looks great too. The sound on Blu-Ray for True HD Audio is incredible. Note this receiver does not have an HDMI input but if you connect your Blu-Ray Player with Analog Cables to this receiver you get the same incredible Blu-Ray sound. If you buy a newer Receiver with an HDMI input, I’m guessing it will cost you $500 more.

Panasonic DMP-BD55K Blu-ray Disc Player $350 on Sale Lists for $499

This Blu-Ray Player is simply amazing and its hard to believe I got it new for $350. The picture and sound are absolutely incredible. I really feell I am in a movie theater and not my home. This player is perfect if you have a receiver that does not have an HDMI input as it has analog outputs for 7.1 and 5.1 sound that you can connect to your receiver to experience True Audio Sound which is fantastic.
If you have a receiver with an HDMI input, then the Panasonic DMP -BD35K Blu-Ray Player is a lot cheaper and is essentially the same as the BD55K except for the Analog Outputs. For an HDMI connection from my Blu-Ray Player’s video outputs to my HDTV I got a Nexxtech 6′ HDMI Cable (Model # NXX N6HDMI) which is highly rated and listed for $60 but I got new online for $40. Picture is fantastic. Please note, the above photo is my Home Theater System however it is an older picture before I got my Panasonic DMP-BD55K Blu-ray Disc Player. Everything else is the same. Here is what the the DMP-BD55K looks like.

Optional Item Musical Fidelity X-10 V3 Tube Buffer $200 -250 Used on Ebay No longer Sold New Anywhere $400 Original Retail Price

This wonderful small item improves your CD sound 1000% and makes music come alive albeit with a regular solid state CD player or a tube CD player (yes it improves that sound too). It makes a night and day difference in your CD sound. At first I couldn’t believe how awesome it was. All the new ones sold out. I would just use basic Acoustic Research Performance Series Directional Cables with this which you can get at Best Buy cheap.

Orb Audio 5 Mod 1 Speakers and Super Eight Subwoofer $799 Direct from Orb Audio New

These are an awesome 5 gorgeous satellite and one fantastic subwoofer home theater system sold direct from the acclaimed Orb Audio Company. The sound is perfect for both CDs and DVDS and look gorgeous. Orb sells with a 30 day money back guarantee. Used Pioneer Elite PD 59 CD Player $125 – $150 on Ebay Aprox $550 When Sold New in the past

or Used Jolida JD-100A Tube CD Player Aprox $550 -$700 on Audiogon (look up online), $950 New

HDTV

There are so many Good Ones at Great Prices and I don’t know your size. Make sure you get a widescreen 1081P HDTV at least 32″. I love Panasonic and Mitsubishi. You can always find great prices at Circuit City. I would definitely take out an extended warranty for it. I have a 34″ Panasonic
CT-34WX15 34″ TheaterWide HDTV-Ready Flat Screen TV which I love in my bedroom and a 48″
Mitsubishi HDTV in my living room. As both of these sets are several years old, I doubt you can get them new any more but the price of HDTV’s has gone down so much, you should be able to get a good 34″ HDTV for around $600 or so, give or take and a 48″ Big Screen TV for $900 or so. To save money, I’d recommend getting a front projector HDTV for your living room if you have room and a CRT HDTV for your bedroom as the picture is just as good but the price is much less than a slim line or Plasma HDTV.

Optional DVD Recorder Liteon DIVX DVD Recorder/Player,All Regions, LVW-1105HC $75 New On Ebay + $23 Shipping

I’ve always loved Liteon on as its Super easy to record by their guide super easy remote One warning most DVD recorders don’t last long so always power down when not using as you do not want the laser to wear down on any DVD recorder you buy

Miscellaneous

If you buy Orb’s Mod 1 Speakers, I recommend you buy wiring from them as well. They may even give you some free. I recommend for a subwoofer Cable you get Monster Cable’s standard THX subwoofer cable for around $30. I also recommend you get Monster Cable’s Standard THX Cables for both your HDTV and your DVD player. They are about $85 each but you can get them used on Ebay. Also get 2 Optic Cables that are good quality on Ebay for about $10-$25 each new, if you can find them used on Ebay you’ll save, for both a DVR if you use on and your DVD player. If you’ve never hooked up a Home Theater System before, I’d have a friend with experience help you out.
