Health Insurance Discount Mail Order Prescriptions Save Money and Time
One of the stupidest things I’ve done over the past decade is not use my Health Insurance drug plans Mail Order Prescriptions which has cost me a few thousand dollars in lost discounts and many wasted hours going to a pharmacy and then waiting on line. I didn’t use Mail Order Prescription back then mainly out of ignorance and fear- I had to make sure I had my prescriptions in time. What an idiot I was.
Basically, I started using Mail Order prescriptions this year because my health insurance company instead of increasing my yearly premiums decreased what they paid off on prescriptions which was considerable and I simply did not want to spend a few hundred dollars out of pocket each month month that I had not spent before. So I looked into getting my prescriptions filled by mail order which my family had urged me for years and I like a fool didn’t listen to them. I found out that under my Health Insurance plan, you basically are sent 3 months of prescriptions with each medicine with several refills depending on what your Doctor prescribes, so there’s really no chance of running out unless you have no refills left and don’t refill them before they run out. Even when that happens your Doctor can contact your local pharmacy and write you an emergency prescription for I think up to 30 days that you can get filled right away. Best of all, you are saving around 33% of what you would pay for in a pharmacy under your insurance plan. Shipping costs are only a few dollars, they will ship several different prescriptions together if you request and if you need them the next day they’ll ship Fed Ex. I have my prescriptions shipped regular mail and the longest they’ve taken to arrive has been 3 days. Basically your order is shipped within 1 to 4 days after you’ve placed the order. You can order online as well as by phone and if you have any pharmaceutical questions there are pharmacists on hand during business hours at the Mail Order Prescription Pharmacy to answer them by phone. Phone service is very quick and about the longest I’ve ever had to wait for someone is 2 minutes. I’ve never had any prescriptions lost in the mail and you can find out when a prescription was sent out online or by phone.
Honestly, unless you don’t need to save any money, I totally recommend if you have Health Insurance that you have your prescriptions filled by mail. You’ll save a lot of money as well as time.
