Heroes Kills Off More Minorities Then Any Other TV Show
I don’t know if you noticed this but Heroes on NBC kills off more minorities then any TV show around! I’m a non-political oblivious white man and even I noticed this. If you’re read my blog, you know I’m not PC, but this is ridiculous. I know at least 4 Blacks, 1 Mexican, 1 Asian and one Hispanic have been killed off this show and there probably have been more. The list could have been larger if I included Mohinder Suresh’s father but as he was not really a part of the regular cast, I didn’t. If you’re a minority actor, chances of you lasting on the show a while are almost as bad as the “new crewman” on the away team on the original Star Trek series. Here is a role call of the Heroes Minorities Murdered Off in Action:
Simone Deveaux - Black
Civilian and Peter Petrelli and Isaac Mendez’s love interest accidentally shot and killed by Isaac who was trying to kill Peter. Minority on Minority killing.
Isaac Mendez - Hispanic
New York comic book heroin shooting artist who paints the future and was murdered by Syler.
D.L. Hawkins - Black
D.L. was able to walk through solid objects and was husband of Niki Sanders and father of Micah Sanders both of who had super powers as well. D.L. was shot to death by a stranger for the sake apparently of meaningless violence due to a minority TV character.
Alejandro Herrera - Mexican
Alejandro is able to use his power to suppress and counteract the effect of Maya’s fatal ability. Honestly, I welcome the death of his character and wished Maya had bought the bucket as well not because they were minorities but because they were annoying characters. Sylar killed Alejandro with his knife not his powers because at the time he had lost the use of them.
Kaito Nakamura - Asian
Hiro’s father, Gay Star Trek Alumni, founding member and important official of the Company. According to Wikipedia, in a deleted scene “Kaito says he can see the variables of any situation and predict the outcome. He claims he is faster than a computer and attributes his success in the stock market to this ability.” Kaito was murdered by Adam Monroe who pushed him off a roof - ouch!
Usutu - Black
The latest minority killed. Usutu had the ability to see in the future like Isaac but he painted the future on rocks and like Isaac got murdered. Arthur Petrelli, Peter Petrelli’s father, beheaded him with his powers.
To anyone who thinks I’ve overexagerated something, compare the number of minority characters murdered on the show to white characters murdered and tell me if that is a normal percentage?
