How to Increase Blog Traffic for Your Blog For Free
Here are 12 things I’ve picked up by trial and error that should help you get higher blog traffic and by extension make you more money on your blog if you’re incorporating it with e-commerce and/or with Adsense. Read my Blog on Adsense By Clicking Here These are not in any order:
1. If you see that a TV Show has just put online some exclusive preview or sneak peak of a popular show do a blog on that and provide a link to the video website to alert people who weren’t aware of it. This will definitely get you more readers if you’ve posted your blog early enough before many others did about it and its been put on Google. Same thing with any important web site or article people don’t know about.
2. In regards to Google which I consider the most important source for blog traffic, I find that if you manually ping “Googles Ad Your Blog Search” Click Here, it will usually be on Googles search engine within 20 minutes to 60 minutes, assuming my experiences aren’t anomalies. The way to make sure your Blog Post has been indexed is to put the Blog Post’s URL in your Google Search bar and if it comes up, its been indexed. For instance take this URLwww.giftsandfreeadvice.com/free_advice/how-to-increase-blog-traffic-for-your-blog-for-free/ Put it on Googles Search Engine and it should show up.
3. Your Subject Title Needs to Be Distinct Enough to Separate You from others writing on the same subject. The more Sensational the chances are you’ll get more readers. The more academic the chances are you’ll get less mass readers. IE, A hypothetical headline like “Sarah Palin’s Kids Drug Problems” is going to attract more of an audience than a Generic “Sarah Palin and her Family”.
4. Use social networks like Technorati, Digg and Reddit to submit your blogs to. I would wait though till Google has indexed your Blog first.
5. Use Pingmyblog.com Click Here to ping your Blogs as it may distribute to places that you are not reaching.
6. Try to write Blogs that are about things that are current and/or affect people. I.E., an article about how you met your husband or boyfriend will not attract as many people as an article on How To Meet the Man or Woman of Your Dreams where you can incorporate some of your experiences.
7. Try to use pictures or illustrations for each of your Posts. I sometimes put together montages of 2 or more separate pictures using a software program called Easy Merge Genius Which Costs around $30 online. See my blog on this Click Here
8. If you can get your blog mentioned by a popular website, blog or magazine, that’s worth a lot of new traffic as well.
9. Periodically, double check your blog posts as you may find that due to a technical error on your part or something else, some posts are not on Googles Search engine. When that happens, I would try to repost a revised/updated post and write the word Revised or Updated in the Subject Line.
10. Use a statement like I do following the end of my Blog Posts to promote your Blog with the Social Networks like Digg and Technorati and list any other websites, e-commerce sites and other sites that you run with a link.
11. When linking to other sites, make sure you make the link open up another window without losing yours.
12. Cross promote other Blog Posts in your Post as they may interest your reader to be a regular reader of your blog. IE, like what I did on Adsense Here and Picture Merge Genius.
One thing I wouldn’t recommend from what I’ve read online is buying traffic. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I will try to update this article when applicable.
