Jeremiah Masoli Oregon QB Should Sue New York Times for Defamation

I confess to being a fan of Jeremiah Masoli Oregon QB or actually ex-Oregon QB because of his legal troubles in recent years. Sports Illustrated just posted an excellent detailed article about Jeremiah Masoli and his recent troubles which you can read in full at this link which may eventually expire. Aug. 1, 2010 Update: Jeremiah Masoli is going to play football this year at Ole Miss. Good luck Jeremiah and Ole Miss.
I’m blogging here not to defend Jeremiah Masoli based on the article, you can make your own minds about that, but to say Jeremiah Masoli should get a good defamation lawyer and sue both the New York Times and The Eugene Register-Guard newspapers for printing and refusing to retract a total untruth about Jeremiah Masoli in which the New York Times April 2010 Sports Section cover story noted that Masoli had been involved “in a series of robberies at a Bay Area shopping mall” and the Eugene Register-Guard “referenced Masoli’s “role in several strong-armed robberies” as a teen” when in fact that never happened and had originally been printed in the San Francisco Chronicle which then corrected this mistake. Such allegations unfairly damage Jeremiah Masoli’s reputation and could have serious repercussions against Jeremiah Masoli Sports and Career opportunities. Apparently according to this Sports Illustrated both the New York Times and the Eugene Register Guard refused to issue a correction even though these Jeremiah Masoli was never involved in these robberies. I for one am sick of the Press, particularly the high and mighty New York Times, damage someones reputation without factual basis and if Jeremiah Masoli or his parents somehow read this blog, sue the bastards!
