Law and Order SVU Keystone Cops on Crack Becoming a Drinking Game

When NBC Law and Order SVU (Law and Order Special Victim’s Unit) first started in 1999 it was a great and serious but entertaining drama in which the viewer actually cared about the victims and the two lead Detectives Elliot Stabler (Christopher Melon), Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). Unfortunately, 11 years later, Law and Order SVU has become the Keystone Cops on crack and the show has become a sick predictable comedy that has the potential to become a drinking game!
For a drama to be effective, there has to be a certain amount of realism otherwise people won’t take the drama seriously. IE., the original Melrose Place which I loved! What’s happened to Law and Order SVU is the show stopped being grounded in reality years ago. Almost every episode features Elliot Stabler losing his cool and professionalism and violating the rights of the people he arrests so bad that the arrest would probably be thrown out in Court and if this were real life Stabler would have been fired 1000 times over. The New York City Police Department also would have lost millions in Lawsuits!
In the latest SVU episode, Elliot responded to a request for a lawyer by physically assaulting the requester. That’s not the exception but the rule. In addition Stabler loves to go to a person’s place of work and while arresting the alleged perpetrator scream out in his loudest voice that he’s arresting the person for a specific sex crime- it doesn’t matter later if the person might be innocent!
Just as when the National Enquirer writes that a celebrity is dying and the celebrity always dies when Detective Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler promise a victim they will be protected, not hurt, just trust them nothing will go wrong, something always does go wrong, putting the Victim in harms way! I’ve never seen such a bunch of knucklehead TV detectives in my life yet we’re suppose to admire them! Somehow they’re never really held accountable for any of their actions. They also don’t mind accusing people who haven’t even been arrested about being guilty of a sex crime to their friends, families and as mentioned before, to the people at their place of work.
Law and Order SVU has deteriorated so bad that now the Rules of the Legal System no longer seem to apply to the Court of Law SVU. Last week, in the middle of a trial for a sex offender, all of a sudden one of the SVU staff, Dr. George Huang (B.D. Wong) walks in the court room with a kid who immediately shouts out repeatedly how the defendant raped him and the judge doesn’t call for an obvious Mistrial which results in a Guilty Verdict. That would be reversed so fast on appeal in the real world it isn’t funny.
I pronounce the Writers of Law and Order SVU guilty of poor and lazy writing and for turning SVU a once great TV Show into a drinking game! I totally disagree content contained in this comentário.Lei and Order SVU is still the best drama in exibição.É People need to understand that the program is fiction and is a showw and thus should be considerado.A wrath of Elliot’s perfectly understandable before the atrocity of the crimes that police presencia.Olívia is a sensitive and caring. They are human beings who make mistakes and fail but this fact is perfectly acceptable and compreensível.Amo SVU and do not understand how one can prefer CSI or Criminal Minds.SVU is the best, always.
