Since Mickey Rourke is suddenly popular again, I thought I’d introduce anyone who hasn’t seen it, to one of my favorite and most terrifying movies I’ve ever seen, “Angel Heart”, starring guess who, the pre-surgery Mickey Rourke. Robert Deniro is in this movie as well as is Lisa Bonet and a flock of chickens! “Angel Heart” is the only movie I ever saw that I lost sleep over as it scared the hell out of me like no movie has before or since. Don’t worry, I won’t spoil its awesome ending which is as great as “No Country for Old Men’s” ending was so bad. In fact the ending of “Angel Heart” is tied with “Beyond a Reasonable Doubt” and “Just Cause” as the best ending I’ve ever seen in a movie.

If you like New Orleans voodoo film noir, “Angel Heart”, is it. Mickey Rourke plays Harry Angel, a private eye who is hired to track down a singer named Johnny Favorite who has left a pile of debts. Along the way. Harry encounters a web of lies, deceit, murders and chickens left right and center.
It’s really hard not to tell more without spoiling this incredible ahead of its time 1987 film for you. All I can say is rent it and see for yourself. Actually, I’d buy it, as its a classic.
