Mummy’s curse lifted? CT Scanner Sees Mummy Meresamun Video
Most of us were probably fascinated as kids hearing about mummies and how their bodies would disintegrate when exposed and probably scared to death hearing about The Mummy’s Curse. Well apparently today mummies can be viewed and studied without unwrapping them using CAT scan and X-ray machines to form a digital image of what’s inside. They have been very useful to biologists and anthropologists, as they have provided a wealth of information about the health and life expectancy of ancient people.
In this really neat video, we see a Mummy named Meresamun via a CD Scanner. Click here to watch the video. Oh PS, the above picture is not that of Meresamun. I just used it to give you an idea of what this process looks like.
Meresamun was a singer- sorry she’s not on CD or Mp3 so you can’t steal her downloads but I’m sure some singer will be stealing her name- I’d still be afraid of a mummy’s curse, who lived to be 30 and had no cavities and might have died from an infection as she showed no signs of trauma to her body. The name Meresamun means “Amun Loves Her,” and she was a singer in the temple of the Egyptian god Amun. She probably was quite beautiful as singers in Egyptian temples were traditionally beautiful women from high-ranking families and has achieved some form of immortality by being famous in 2009. I’ve got to admit Mummy’s still scare me as I was going to buy the domain name Meresamun.com but I’m afraid if there might be a Mummy’s curse.
