NBA Teams Would Win More Games If They Scouted Like the Playoffs

If scouting NBA team opponents really means the difference between scoring more points and giving up less and winning and losing then why don’t NBA Teams scout opponents and prepare for games (as time allows) like they do in the NBA Playoffs? Honestly why NBA teams don’t do this makes no sense to me whatsoever. The obvious answer is money but come on- how much money are we talking about in hiring a few more scouts? I’m sure there are plenty of ex pro basketball players or people with college basketball experience who would welcome the opportunity of a solid job with an NBA team. Let’s say this scouting like the playoffs for the regular season method would cost a few million dollars. So what? Wouldn’t most NBA teams gladly spend a few million dollars if that would help them win more games, improve their record and get them in the playoffs or improve their playoff position? I mean these teams will gladly pay someone like Adam Morrison $5,000,000 for hardly playing, so come on! As far as I know, any scouting money does not count against the NBA Salary Cap for Players.
Obviously, you don’t want your players as intense in the regular season as playoff games because they’ll burn out but they could still be better prepared (as time allows) with more extensive scouting.
