November 22 1963 What if Kennedy Assassination Happened Today or Five Years Ago (Repost)

I was watching the latest episode of “Mad Men” on AMC which dealt with the November 22, 1963 assassination of President Kennedy and based on my memories as a child when it happened, they did a pretty good job of recreating the mood of that day and weekend. That got me thinking of what if the events of November 22, 1963 had happened in 2004 or 2009 instead, if that makes any sense. This is a purely speculative piece which does not advocate harm to the President- I do not want to be on the FBI’s list, but how we’d deal with similar events if they happened today or a decade ago. Again this article is historical speculation only and does not advocate any harm to our President(s).
The Single Bullet Theory Wouldn’t Play Off Today
One of the biggest differences between 1963 and 2009 and 2004, is that the “Single Bullet Theory” wouldn’t play off today and I doubt the Government would try to pull off that nonsense today or in 1999 because people are no longer stupid lambs led to slaughter. Back in 1963 the Government somehow got away with the Single Bullet Theory because people were in absolute shock. In the last 30 years ago people have gotten more World Weary and less Trust Worthy on everything and most of us believe that the United States is run by “fortunate sons”. In regards to the “Single Bullet Theory” what the people who try to perpetrate that it did happen and their scientifically logical explanation for how it happened failed to account for is what exactly are the odds that the “Single Bullet Theory” would happen in the middle of a Presidential Assassination? I think the odds would be similar to an Alien Space Ship landing on the football field at Tampa Stadium just before Scott Norwood of the Buffalo Bills attempted his potential game winning field goal against the New York Giants in Super Bowl XXV by chance!
The Crying and Sorrow of Everyone
While I believe that there would be the same crying and sorrow if November 22, 1963 happened today with President Obama, I truly believe there would be hardly any crying and sorrow if November 23, 1963 happened in 2004 for President Bush. He just wasn’t the kind of President that people felt emotionally connected to.
No Real TV Shows for 3 or More Days
I remember how immature I was in retrospect being upset that none of the 7 or so TV channels we got in the days before Cable were showing any TV shows except for the news that Kennedy was dead. People were sitting in front of their TV set like drones watching the same thing for hours like Kennedy was going to come back to life. We’re lucky no one I think tried subliminal messaging on the TV news or then again maybe they did because there was no uproar over “The Single Bullet Theory” or “Jack Ruby”. If November 23, 1963 happened today or in 2004, you can bet your bottom dollar that there would be plenty of cable TV channels showing regular fare or event regular fare like movies about Presidents, etc! The Network’s TV Schedule would probably not broadcast shows for a few days out of respect except for of course The Fox Network!
Pro Football Games Going On As Scheduled
It still is hard to believe that somehow the late NFL Football Commissioner and the Pro Football Owners allowed NFL games to be played as scheduled the weekend of November 22, 1963. There simply is no way that would have happened in 2004 or today.
The Jack Ruby Follow Through
Quite simply there is no way today or in 2004 that people would believe that Jack Ruby just happened to walk in and of his own accord, shoot the alleged assassin of the President. First of all, the amount of police guards would be 20 times that of 1963 and the alleged assassin would not be paraded in front of TV cameras.
The Woody Harrelson Connection
Actor Woody Harrelson’s father, Charles Harrelson, according to Wikipedia:
“was an American freelance hitman connected with organized crime and was convicted of assassinating U.S. District Judge John H. Wood, Jr.” “Harrelson mentioned in an early confession to the Wood murder that he shot President John F. Kennedy in Dallas in 1963. He then later denied his role in the shooting of the President, for which no connection was ever found. Conspiracy theorists have labeled him as one of the “Three Tramps” hiding in a box car on the railroad tracks behind Dealey Plaza just after the shooting. Harrelson at various times before his death both denied and boasted about his role as one of the tramps. About the assassination, Harrelson remarked to Dallas TV station KDFW-TV in 1982, “Do you believe that Lee Harvey Oswald killed President Kennedy, alone, without any aid from a rogue agency of the US government or at least a portion of that agency? I believe you are very naive if you do.” I am mentioning this because if this hypothetically happened in 2004 or 2009 (assuming Charles Harrelson was alive and free at the time), this would have been all over the internet and on the National Enquirer and E! and TMZ within a day not decades later!
