Odyssey 5 Sci-Fi TV Series DVD for Robocop and Flash Forward Fans

Sometimes the mind really does boggle. I love science fiction and good sci-fi TV series but somehow and I still can’t figure out how, a really great Scifi TV series, Odyssey 5, starring Robocop Peter Weller, totally escaped my attention and I never heard of it till I saw a mention of it on the Internet. Supposedly, and I’m not totally sure, Odyssey 5 was a 2002 Showtime TV Series that even though I get Showtime I never heard of. If you’re a fan of Flash Forward and Robocop Peter Weller, I think you’d love this Sci-Fi TV series DVD Collection which makes all 20 episodes available including the really terrific Pilot episode which features great visuals and really good writing.
Odyssey 5 starts with a team of Astronauts in Outer Space who suddenly without warning watch the Earth explode as their Space Ship breathlessly goes out of control in an incredibly filmed sequence where somehow they wind up aboard the Space Ship of an Alien named The Seeker. The Seeker somehow gives them a chance to prevent Earth’s Destruction by sending their minds back to their selves of five years to the past. The series is about their saga of trying to change the future with full knowledge of the next 5 years which causes paradoxes, dilemmas and personal conflict.
Besides Peter Weller who does a great job as the defacto leader, “Odyssey 5″ also stars Sebastian Roche, now the main Villain on Fringe, who besides being a Noble Prize Winning Scientist, is also a pot smoking whore monger gambler who enjoys threesomes with women. Odyssey 5 features female nudity and profanity.
I’m surprised how well written, directed and acted Odyessy 5 is and I can’t believe it wasn’t publicized that much and was canceled after one season.
