Paypal Rip Off Money Back Guarantee Not Protected by Paypal

I am getting infuriated by Paypal more and more each day and may take them to Court over Paypal’s latest act of what I consider blatant consumer fraud. Here is a valuable lesson if you are reading this, if you want full protection over online purchases, use your Credit Card not Paypal because Paypal does not provide the Consumer Protection they Preach and Advertise in my personal opinion.
Here is what just happened to me. I purchased a Computer Software Download online from a company that advertised its product as Money Back Guaranteed- if you don’t like the product, they’ll give you your money back. Like an idiot I used Paypal. That was my mistake. The Software I purchased didn’t do exactly what I wanted it to do- the trial software was a bit misleading (it froze the “Fix It Action” till you purchased it, so I bought the full Software product paying with Paypal for a register key to unfreeze this feature and I found it didn’t do exactly what I was expecting). So I immediately wrote to the Software Company and asked for a full refund and they Stonewalled me.
My time is valuable so I immediately filed a Paypal complaint as the Product was sold with a Money Back Guarantee which was not being honored by the merchant. I was shocked when I got back from Paypal this short terse reply on my Paypal Account website- Paypal didn’t even have the courtesy of notifying me this by email I had to find it myself by looking it up on my Paypal account, quote enquote “We’re unable to decide this claim in your favor at this time. PayPal’s Buyer Complaint Policy applies to the shipment of goods but not to disputes about merchandise quality.”
I should note that the Software Company did later email me “Your software purchase refund has been issued. Due to differences in processing times by the major credit card issuing banks, in some instances refund times may extend to 15 business days.” Wonderful, I haven’t gotten a cent yet and it was to hard for them to just issue me a Paypal refund. Until the payment is actually received I don’t consider that I’ve gotten my Money Back but have not named this company here for Legal Reasons at this time. Nevertheless, I consider Paypal negligent and paypal protection a joke.
Let this be a lesson to anyone who uses the Paypal online payment system to purchase a Product Advertised with a Money Back Guarantee instead of a Credit Card: Don’t. Paypal will kick you to the curb if you inform Paypal that the Advertised Money Back Guarantee was not honored by the company selling the product using Paypal. To reiterate from Paypal, “We’re unable to decide this claim in your favor at this time. PayPal’s Buyer Complaint Policy applies to the shipment of goods but not to disputes about merchandise quality.” Please check out our large Online Discount Gift Store click here and our other Online Discount Stores below which helps support this politically incorrect blog.
