President Kennedy Assassination Saved Prisoner Being Executed (I Think)

Here is one of the few records in American History that happened on November 22, 1963, the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, that seems to have totally disappeared from history or else I can’t find online, and hopefully someone remembers this and can update this blog with more specifics. I was an 11 year old kid in school when this was discussed in class and unfortunately I do not remember the specifics other than a Man was supposed to be executed in prison, I think in Texas, I may be wrong, on November 22, 1963 and just before he was supposed to die in the electric chair President Kennedy was assassinated and the Prison Execution was called off because of that. The man’s lawyer then requested that the execution be canceled permanently because for him to go through this process again was “cruel and unusual punishment” and that he be sentenced to life in prison instead. I don’t know exactly what became of the prisoner- was he still executed or was he given life in prison and is he still alive today? If anyone knows, please write this Blog. I hope I haven’t started an Urban Legend cause this is true.
