AMC’s Mad Men has to have the most unlikable characters I’ve ever seen on a TV Show. For some reason I enjoy watching the show but its hard to really care about anyone as they’re such rotten people who do things like make jokes about Plane Crashes that kill all 95 passengers abroad 5 minutes after it happens.

Don Draper played perfectly by Jon Hamm is to me the most vile of the bunch and I can see the guy growing up to being a serial killer as he seems to have no emotional soul about anything and goes through life telling people do as I say not as I do. I decided it would be fun to rank the male jerks in terms of how vile they are from the worst jerk, Don Draper, down. Feel free if you don’t agree with my order:

1. Ultimate Jerk Don Draper - Jon Hamm
2. Duck Phillips - Mark Moses
3. Bert Cooper - Robert Morse
4. Pete Campbell - Vincent Kartheiser
5. Paul Kinsey - Michael Gladis
6. Salvatore Romano - Bryan Batt
7. Rich Sommer - Harry Crane
8. Ken Cosgrove - Aaron Staton
9. Roger Sterling - John Slattery

Some of you may be surprised to see me rank Roger Sterling as the least unlikable of the group but he really hasn’t done anything to screw over his employees as best I can remember, although he’s cheated on his wife with 2 hot much younger women!

I can’t remember any time I’ve ever seen a television drama with no real redeeming character. Even the female characters, who I haven’t ranked, are pretty unlikable. Don’s wife is a moody hypersensitive woman who can go into a mood on a dime, Joan the hot secretary has a really nasty side, Peggy the copyrighter has her good days and bad. In fact the only character with more than a few speaking lines who doesn’t come off as a bad person is Jane Siegel who the worst you can say about her is she’s sleeping with Roger, a married man who wants to marry her! Why do I watch this show?
