If you both like art, especially the great Robert Crumb aka R Crumb and want to invest relatively little money to make a great investment, then I advise readers of my blog, to purchase signed and numbered Robert Crumb prints. This is a totally unsolicited endorsement of R Crumb signed prints, in fact I’m worried that one of the signed prints I want but don’t have the money on hand right now for the print and a good frame, will probably sell out as a result of this blog post. Before I go on, you can get signed Robert Crumb Prints and art direct from R Crumb at his website, www.rcrumb.com or occasionally find a good deal for older Robert Crumb signed prints on Ebay.
I myself own an original R Crumb signed 1967 Keep on Truckin’ Silkscreen POSTER” that I got on Ebay for around $300 with shipping and paid another $75 for Custom Framing and a signed R Crumb Mr. Natural Comic Cover Proof that was another $175 with a custom frame (shown above, sorry top of frame was cut off on my scan), and a 1980 Black and White Signed R Crumb Print titled I think “Me and My Sweetie Was Walkin’ Down the Street” for the Bargain Price of $150 framed all on Ebay from collectors one of who personally trades items with Crumb. I personally have no desire to sell my signed R Crumb art which I love and looks great in my home but its value has definitely appreciated greatly.
Most of the signed R Crumb prints on the Robert Crumb website go for around $300 to $340 with one currently listed at $850 before shipping. Most R Crumb Signed Prints sell out really fast and seem to go up around 400-500 Percent in value from what I’ve informally observed reading online.
