Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Breast Implants OK Not A-Rod
“The Swimsuit Issue emphasizes natural beauty,” the SI spokesman told CNBC. “The freckles are left on and, in this case, the tattoos came off.” In reference to why Danica Patrick’s tattoo was photoshopped away in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Let’s start off with, I hate implants. So I admit I’m biased. I like nice sized breasts but hate implants as they’re the most unnatural feeing in the world for me- feels like I’m squeezing a rubber ball. I’m a man and my two experiences with women with implants were experiences I don’t wish to remember. As I said it felt like I was squeezing a rubber ball. The weird thing is that women with implants seem to think they’re hot. Well not to me.
Anyway, the point of this blog is not to rant against women with breast implants but to rant against Sports Illustrated. I love reading Sports Illustrated and they have great writers and great stories. What I hate about Sports Illustrated though is their Self Righteousness. I don’t have a problem with them reporting an actual story but I do have problems with them saying what’s wrong with certain aspects of sports and what needs to be done to clean them up when I’m sure they have their own internal problems. My problem has to do with Sports Illustrated’s consistency.
My biggest problem is Sports Illustrated condemns artificial enhancement of athletic performance but it apparently is OK to use women with breast implants to sell their Swimsuit issue. Somehow I can’t reconcile the two other than breasts implants are legal and I guess steroids are not. I honestly don’t know the details about steroids and other performance enhancing drugs and I personally don’t care. I don’t use them but could care less if an athlete uses them or not. If they want to screw up their health, it’s on them, why should I care? I’m not commending the use of drugs in sports but from my fans point of view and I may be in the minority, I could care less if it enhanced an athletes performance. I’m sure in the world that many of the worlds most successful people and companies used methods at one time or another to achieve their position today which probably wouldn’t be considered ethical so why should the sports world be different?
To be redundant, I don’t care if an athlete uses performance enhancements or not- if they want to damage their health that’s their own business. On the hand, this shouldn’t be used to encourage others to use the stuff. What’s the solution? I don’t know but I don’t think Sports Illustrated has the right to condemn athletes for using performance enhancements like A-Rod, Alex Rodriguez, when they themselves use women with implants to sell their Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
