What is the cost of stupidity? It is the financial cost of doing stupid things, it has nothing to do with morality or ethics. For instance the cost of stupidity for hockey player Sean Avery was the loss of 6 games salary for being suspended and the potential loss of millions of dollars for being cut from the Dallas Stars hockey team. It has nothing to do with him embarrassing himself or making vile and obnoxious remarks. Most people including myself do stupid things at different points in their lives and at this point in such a bad economy, you can not afford to piss away your money doing stupid things that are preventable. This is not about making moral judgments on you but you having to financially pay for your stupidity. If you don’t mind paying for doing stupid things well that’s your right. Most people, other then rock stars and pro athletes, can’t afford to pay the Cost of Stupidity. Here are just a few Costly Stupid Acts that are preventable.
Not Using a $1 Condom Cost of Stupidity Thousands to Millions over your lifetime if You’re in the NBA
Assuming your not an NBA player, by not using a $1 condom, your risking getting a woman pregnant and/or catch a sexually transmitted disease. The cost of knocking up a woman who raises your child is going to be over 5 to 6 figures easily over the course of your kiddie’s life not including hospital bills for the birth if the woman you knocked up doesn’t have insurance.
Getting Arrested for Drunk Driving Cost of Stupidity $3,000 -$5,000 for Lawyer
If your stupid enough to drink and drive and get arrested, you’re going to need a competent lawyer. If you hit someone, your looking to pay more legal fees and 5 to 7 figures based on the persons injuries.
Not Having Health Insurance Cost of Stupidity Thousands to Losing Your Life
Bottom line is if you don’t have health insurance and you need to see a Doctor, get prescriptions, need to be operated on, hospitalized, etc., you may wind up being bankrupt as well as possibly losing your life for not being treated by the best medical team around because you don’t have insurance.
