The Who Super Bowl Exclusive Interview with Rabbit The Who Keyboardist

1. What songs are you planning to play at the Super Bowl?

John “Rabbit” Bundrick: I believe Pete Townshend said we are going to do a medley of the most famous Who hits. It’s a 12 minute slot so we have worked about 5 songs linking to each other and the whole thing is Rock n’ Roll from start to finish.

2. As an American, are you a Football fan? College or NFL Football or both?

Oh yeah, with a Capital Yeah! The Dallas Cowboys are my team, I’m sad to see they are not gonna be at the Super Bowl but hey, what an exciting time it will be anyway. It’s the biggest gig The Who have ever done in their entire career. Sometimes College Football is better than the Pro’s. The college players are vying for position for the NFL Scouts, so they try much, much harder making their game full of excitement and danger.

3. How do you follow Football and American Sports living in England?

They show American Football games over here, too. No worries, I get my fill.

4. Who are you rooting for in the Super Bowl and is The Who going to stay and watch the entire game?

I don’t care really. Dallas ain’t there, so whoever wins is fine by me. By the way, who are the two teams playing?

5. Do Pete Townshend and Roger Daltry know anything about American Football at all? Who if any team will they be rooting for or is it all alien to them?

Uh, I doubt it but if either one does, it will be Roger.

6. What does it feel like playing in front of the whole world (watching live on TV)?

In a word ……….GOBSMACKED!. It hasn’t really sunk in yet and probably won’t until I hear the crown screaming……YEE HAW…………….

7. Is playing the Super Bowl the biggest thrill of your musical career? If not, what is?

Nope, the biggest thrill in my career was when I joined Free and worked with Paul Rodgers at the microphone. Awesome guy he is. No one beats Paul Rodgers in my book.

8. Do you miss living in the United States?

NOPE………….

9. Did you play any Sports growing up in the United States?

I sure did- Baseball, football basketball. I sat on the bench the whole season. I was shit at Sports. I’m a music lover after all.

10. Who were your favorite pro athletes and pro teams growing up in the US and today from any American Sports?

None. Now ask me who my favorite musicians were………………
