Trust Your Gut Instinct First Impression
I’m going to tell you something that it took me till middle age to realize and which is against what every enlightened person preaches: Trust your instincts as your first impressions are usually right about everything and don’t give things a chance if you have a bad feeling about them. The popular conformist notion is that by going by your first impressions you could be missing out on some wonderful opportunities great people, the love of your life, etc. Well I’m here to tell you that life is a trade off.
Yes, I totally agree that maybe 5 times out of 100 first impressions are wrong. The thing is though if 95% of the time your first impressions are right, by denying that they are right you’re putting yourself in an unfavorable position by not following your gut instinct’s first impression. Or to put it more straightforward, would you be willing to go on a great date 5 times out of 100 but have to endure bad dates 95 times out of 100 or miss out on a great date 5 times out of 100 if that meant you would not have to go out on a bad date the other times. Its a trade off like I said.
For me personally I’ve found if I don’t follow my first impressions I wind up getting stuck in situations that I regret later on and these negative situations far outweigh passing up the chance for a great thing to happen that I missed out on by not giving something a chance.
I simply can not tell you the amount of times I went out with women who I knew were bad news, bought things online that I had a bad feeling about, hung out with friends who I knew were trouble, took jobs that I had questions about, etc. The amount of time lost, aggravation, loss of psychic energy, stress and general trouble caused by not following my gut instincts and being willing to give things a chance that I was skeptical of were simply not worth it. You decide for yourself.
