Video 750 Pound Shark Captured to Eat – Shark Meat is Dangerous!

Ever since I was about 5 and my grandmother cut a fish to eat for our family’s dinner and somehow the eye popped out and hit me in the face, I stopped eating fish and am even afraid to swim in a lake with them! I’m not totally nuts, I’m not afraid to look at fish in fish tanks or aquariums. Which gets me to these fisherman in Florida capturing a 750 pound Shark, actually a 748 pound, ten foot Mako shark. My question is why capture and kill a shark when having a shark encounter if its not a threat to you other than “because I can”? Before I go on here’s a really amazing video of the fishermen catching the 748 pound shark:
The fisherman who caught and killed the shark said that they were going to cut it up and give it to 20 friends to eat. I didn’t know that people ate shark and so I Googled eating shark and found out that eating shark could be dangerous. Sharks apparently contain Methyl Mercury, a dangerous poison. Too much mercury from any source can cause loss of coordination, blindness or even death. To quote, Toxicologist Dr. Hermann Kruse of the University of Kiel (Germany) “it is one of the biologically most active and dangerous poisons for humans. It works like a Trojan Horse, which can easily work its way through all safety barriers of the human body. Something that most other poisons cannot do as easily.”
