Yesterday, the Sports World and Possibly the news world was treated to the most insane Press Conference Ever involving the New York Mets Omar Minya and Adam Rubin. Omar Minya is the General Manager for the NY Mets and Adam Rubin is a sports writer for the NY Daily News. The Press conference was for Omar Minya to announce that the Mets had fired Vice president of player personnel Tony Bernazard for challenging Mets Double-A players to a fight, getting angry at a Mets employee over a seating problem and having a major argument with NY Mets reliever Francisco Rodriguez amongst other things. OK, so far no big deal. Typical sports announcement. Instead Omar Minya proceeded to mention that the New York Daily News reporter, Adam Rubin, who broke the story on Tony Bernazard for challenging Mets Double-A players to a fight, had in fact lobbied the Mets numerous times for a job in their organization in Tony Bernazard’s area of player development.
