Video of Rocket Man Flying 7500 Feet Skyward On Just A Rocket Pack
You could not pay me 1 billion dollars to do this. Yves Rossy of Switzerland invented and is the first person to have fly with a jet engine-powered wing on his back. He flew from 7500 feet for six minutes. Here is the incredible video of his flight. I can’t understand why this wasn’t better publicized. This guy to me is one of the most courageous people ever.
Rossy who goes by the name “Fusion Man” and is a commercial pilot and former military pilot, flys his invention (as I understand it, I’m probably wrong) by jumping out of a plane with just his jet engine wing on his back, dropping free fall, opening his wings and then flying horizontally under jet power when he’s dropped about 25% and then switching off the jet engines before deploying two parachutes at two different levels. He steers by shifting his weight and moving his head. He ought to be given all the Nobel Prizes for this. Dude you’re awesome!
