Windows 7 Upgrade Tips What You Need to Know Before You Upgrade

I love Windows 7 as it makes everything I do on the computer much easier and faster. If you are planning to do a Windows 7 Upgrade, here are some tips you need to know before you upgrade to Windows 7 based on my experience of upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7.
1. Download the following free Cache Cleaner that will clean the Cache for Windows7 Firefox, Internet Explorer and Opera, as it is hard to find a way to clean your Browser Cache for Windows 7 believe it or not. The free Cache Cleaner for Windows 7 is called CCleaner and you can download CCleaner free by clicking this adware free link. Make sure to update it to the latest version when you are installing CCleaner.
2. Try to initially download your individual software programs like your printer for instance from the download for Windows 7 for your printer at the Website of your program. In the example of your printer, go to its Website and there should be a free download for Windows 7. Windows 7 computers are either 32 or 64 bits and it is important you know how many bits it is as it will probably give you a Windows 7 32 bit download and a Windows 7 64 bit download as choices. You need to download the correct one.
On other programs for software like Nero for example, you need to upgrade/update so its Windows 7 compatible so after you install your software, then look for the update/upgrade to Windows 7. If you don’t, you may encounter a bunch of problems. If push comes to shove you may need to buy Windows 7 versions of your software but in the long run its worth it, as Windows 7 is a joy. If you do need to buy Windows 7 software Programs, my Discount Software Store offers New and Used Discount Software, 2009 Tax Software and Computers at this link.
3. This is standard for whenever you get a new computer regardless the system: Immediately type MSCONFIG in RUN and then click the Startup Column on top. You will find all the Programs are clicked which will slow up your computer immensely. You only need a few of these programs like Anti-Virus checked. I personally would uncheck everything except for Anti-Virus. Anything checked means that these programs are running in the background as soon as your computer starts up and you simply do not need anything running in the background except for Anti-Virus and maybe 1 or 2 programs that you also want running at start-up cause your computer will be slow as hell if you leave them all checked!
4. If you are upgrading to Windows 7 from another operating System, download your programs individually do not use a program like PCmover that will transfer all your programs at once, if your old computer is a different operating system! I had used PC Mover when I went from XP to Windows 7 and it transferred 98% of my programs perfectly but somehow it prevented Windows 7 from installing a critical update.
5. If you are going with a Windows 7 Operating system, get a Brand New Computer with Windows 7 installed. If you try to install Windows 7 alongside your existing Operating System, while it can be done it will cause complications down the road. Trust me, buy a new Windows 7 Computer.
It will probably take you 3 days to get used to Windows 7 but as I said it makes using the computer faster and easier. I particularly like the little right corner box on the computer task bar at the bottom as clicking it makes the desktop show up instead of having to minimize windows! Enjoy your Windows 7 Computer!
